Here are a few other things to check beside the fuse and relay:
Check Wiper Motor - the wiper motor is the driving force of the windshield wiper. Feel the motor and listen to a humming sound. If there is no humming, the motor is the problem. Check if the motor is working properly and see to it that its electrical connections are made properly. If you find that the motor is dead and beyond repair, get it replaced immediately.
Check For Break in Connecting Wires - the connecting wires of the motor sometimes go loose and that may cause the windshield wipers to stop working. Also check the battery plug connection which the motor has. Connecting the loose wires properly or fixing/replacing the plug might solve your problem.
Check Wiper Switch - another wiper assembly part that can malfunction is the wiper switch itself. Check for switch malfunction and if you find that is indeed the problem, get it replaced from a mechanic.
Check for Bent Wiper Arms - bent wiper arms can cause the operation of the wipers to be hampered. If the wiper arms are bent beyond repair, get them replaced immediately.
WIPER ARM LINKAGE COULD BE BINDING.REMOVE WIPER ARM TO SEE IF WIPER MOTOR OPERATE SLOWLY.IF YES CHECK TO MAKE SURE WIPER MOTOR GETTING GOOD GROUND CONNECTIONS BY CHECKING MOVING WIRES .IF WIPER MOTOR SPEEDS UP YOU HAVE GROUND WIRE PROBLEM. IF WIPER MOTOR REMAIN SLOW GROUND WIRES CHECK OUT OKAY.REPLACE WIPER MOTOR.IF WIPER MOTOR RUN FAST NORMAL SPEED AFTER DISCONNECTING WIPER ARM.WIPER ARM LINKAGES IS BINDING OR NEED SOME LUBRICATION TRY WD40 SEE WHAT HAPPENS.LUBRICATION DONT HELP WIPER LINKAGE COULD BE DAMAGED.
ONLY PROCEDURE FOR WIPER MOTOR IS YOU HAVE 2 SPEEDS THAT WORK SLOW AND FAST SPEED.WIPERS WILL RETRACT TO THE BOTTOM OF HOOD LINE WHEN YOU TURN OFF. WIPERS SHOULD TURN OFF. CHECK WIPER RESERVOIR MAKE SURE ITS FULL AND WIPER WASHER SPRAY FLUID CLEAN WINDSHIELD. IF WIPER MOTOR DO ALL THE ABOVE THEN ITS OKAY.IF WIPER MOTOR WORKS SLOW LOOK FOR BINDING AT WIPER ARM LINKAGE AND PIVOT LUBRICATE LINKAGE AND PIVOT COULD HELP.IF WIPER MOTOR DONT WORK CHECK FOR POOR GROUND OR BLOWED FUSE.WIPER WORK AT ONE SPEED CONTROL SWITCH IS BAD.IF WIPER BLADES STOP WHERE EVER THEY ARE OR FAIL TO TURN OFF UNLESS YOU TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH WIPER MOTOR LIMIT SWITCH BROKEN.IF WIPERS DONT RETRACT BELOW BOTTOM HOOD LINE LOOK FOR MECHANICAL OBSTRUCTION OR WIPER MOTOR FAULTY.
CHECK FUSE IF FUSE GOOD.HOOK A JUMPER WIRE TO GROUND AND GROUND WIPER MOTOR.TURN WIPER SWITCH ON IF WIPERS WORKS YOU HAVE TO FIX GROUND CONNECTION. IF WIPER STILL DONT WORK.REMOVE THE COWL COVER.TURN WIPER SWITCH ON TO SEE IF POWER GOING TO WIPER MOTOR IF YES.REMOVE WIPER MOTOR HOTWIRE IT.IF WIPER MOTOR DONT WORK REPLACE IT.IF WIPER MOTOR DO WORK CHECK FOR BINDING OR DAMAGE LINKAGES.IF POWER NOT GOING TO WIPER MOTOR AND FUSE GOOD.WIPER SWITCH FAULTY OR IT HAS BROKEN WIRE FROM SWITCH TO WIPER MOTOR.
with the key on and the wiper switch in the low or high position tap the wiper motor with a screwdriver handle. If it starts working replace the wiper motor.
Most likely the wiper motor, when it stops working, bump the wiper motor to see if it will start working,if it does, the wiper motor is bad,it does not always work, bumping the wiper motor, but if it does not, then check to see if it is getting voltage to the wiper motor, and if it is,the wiper motor needs replacing.
1. check the fuse to the rear wiper motor
2. check for power to rear wiper motor at the motor (power wire going in to the wiper motor with rear wiper switch on)
If you have good fuses & have power going in to the rear wiper motor...
3. Pull old rear wiper motor and install a new rear wiper motor.
Thank you please drive thru......
