I have it as well. Its another beeping seperate to the key in the ignition its three fast joined beeps and does it ten times before stopping. And only does it half the time. Key beeper continues to beep no matter when the door is open.

Did you ever thing that it's just telling you to remove the key before you exit the vehicle?

  • Rigger DeBusk Mar 01, 2016

Pj and Mitch, set the emergency brake before you shut the switch off and see if that beeping is a warning to do so. I don't know factually if it is, but worth trying. Let me know if it works and beeping doesn't happen when switch turned off before shutting of switch by setting the park brake first. Good luck.

The horn beeps over and over like an alarm

probably is the alarm being set off by a corrupted CPU program from connecting the leads incorrectly. When using jumper leads or jumper battery the positive lead is connected to the battery terminal first and the earth wire ( negative) is connected to the to the engine . NOT the battery. IT is also advisable to turn on the head lights These precautions prevent a power surge in the CPU that corrupts the program

All of a sudden when I put the car on, I get a series of beeps. No indicator lights come on and they are all working. The beeps will disappear and then come back every 15 minutes. Please help.

Could be the seatbelt alarm. Sometimes weight on a seat or a child safety seat will trick the car sensor to thinking the seat is occupied. Buckling the wrong belt may not complete a loop to turn off the alarm.

Sometimes when I set the alarm - it beeps 23 times quickly - it might do this for several days, then suddenly, it sets properly - 1 beep. BUT it often goes off on its own - the light on the dash will...

Hi
Check that all the doors are closing correctly, a good way is to check that the interior light is switched off when all the doors are closed.
The problem usually occurs due to the alarm unable to set itself properly due to open doors or the bonnet not pushing the switch down far enough.
It may also have stored old codes from when it has been set off in the past, get a good auto alarm place to reset the alarm if you don't have the manual to do it yourself. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

On my saab vector ignition key functions

I have a Saab 93 Vector and although my key does not have that function my manual says the following; 'Press once - Turns on exterior and cabin lighting, for 30 sec, or turns off lighting. Deactivates panic alarm. Hold and press for more than 2 sec - Cars with car alarm: panic alarm (activates alarm manually).
There is another section that says the button turns off lights and larm when activated and the car remains locked. The panic alarm can only be activated when the car is stationary and it will be silenced when the car is driven away.

Hope that makes sense. Enjoy your Saab 93 - I know I do every day.

My 92 honda civic si check engine light sometimes goes on after driving it for a while and it usually goes on after high revving, i don't know if this has anything to do with it but there is a beeping...

no, the beeping sound has nothing to do with it, thats just telling you your key is in the ignition. this happened to me and turned out to be a blown head gasket. get a complete head set for about $200 and be sure to change ALL of the seals and gaskets, or else you will just blow your head gasket again.
