Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Without knowing the actual 'code' (the reason for the light being on), it is hard to state with any accuracy.

However...we see quite a bit, here in my shop, Highlanders with the Check Engine light on, right after an oil change. Often, whoever changes the oil sometimes checks the air filter, and, when they open the filter box, they knock off a vacuum hose going to the air filter box. This could be your problem.

Go out to the vehicle, pop the hood, and check the black box that holds the air filter, on the passenger side front of the engine compartment; look to see if a black rubber hose is not connected. If it is off, reconnect it and drive the vehicle 10 miles, shut it off, and drive another 10 miles. This may extinguish the light.

We have a 2003 highlander, and every time they check the air filter(done during oil change), they disconnect a vacuum hose located on the bottom of the air filter housing. to reset for a momentany malfuntion,disconnect the negative battery terminal few minutes, reconnect,start engine and drive to check

filter is in between radiator and exhaust manifold near front of engine , under hood. hard to see , but can reach around exhaust pipes and find it with hand.
