What relay is to the fuel pump

The fuel pump relay is a small unit covered in a plastic case, which has several sprockets on one side that are clipped onto the ignition system. The fuel pump relay is what turns on the fuel pump when you start your car and powers it down when you shut off the ignition.

The engine control module (ECM) uses the fuel pump relay to control when the fuel pump is on. The fuel pump relay supplies electricity to power up and power down the fuel pump.

It's located in different places on different cars. It could be under the hood, on the firewall, on one of the fender covers or near the steering column, to name a few locations. As for a Nissan Terra (Nissan Terra ?????), it is often found in the fuse box located in the engine bay.

When you turn the key in the ignition forward to crank the car, the "start cycle" begins and fuel pump relay is engaged long enough to turn on the fuel pump. It shuts off again when the engine is running. Once the engine is running, the fuel pump relay shuts off, and the current for the fuel pump is supplied by the oil pressure sending unit. The other time the fuel pump relay is engaged is when you shut off the ignition. It engages long enough to shut off your fuel pump.

Hello world, I have a 2007 Chevy Uplander while I was driving it completely shut down.. I tried to crank it but it wouldn't stay running. Is it the fuel pump.. Does anyone had the same problem.....

Are You sure.?. Most fuel pumps will give a warning before it quits on you. Check your relays and fuses under the hood. You may also have a bad shut-off switch the shuts the pump down in the event of an accident.. Check them all. Removing a fuel pump is very expensive , as it is located inside the gas tank.

FUEL PUMP NOT WORKING

Sorry, your fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. The fuel tank will have to be pulled down to access the pump. BUT, first check all of the fuses, check for and bad broken wiring to the fuel tank connections.

2005 Ford F-150 5.4 The truck is not starting. When you turn it on it sound like it is not getting fuel to run the engine. Or the fuel pump is not comming on. Need help please.. Thank you

Fuel pump relay probably. There is also a relay which affects the injector output also controlled by the fuel pump relay which is called an auto shut down relay.Try the fuel pump relay first. Then the auto shut down relay. If not either of those, you may need a fuel pump but doesn't seem likely on a 5 year old truck but stranger things have happened.Good luck,Greg A dealer will likely tell you exactly where they are as I do not know parts locations for every car. Most systems, yes, parts locations,no.Happy (inexpensive) Holiday

On my 1997 jeep wrangler, What would cause the automatic shut down relay kick in and shut down the fuel pump and the spark and fuel injectors it is a 4.0

I'm just guessing, but there is sometimes a switch near the rear that when triggered by a rear in collision would shut off the fuel pump etc. It would be located in trunks of cars. Not sure about your jeep.

Can you use a obd2 meter on 1989 cadi deville

The fuel pump relay is located behind of the glove box. The fuel pump fuse is located in the same box (Relay Center). The fuel pump relay is either the 2nd or 3rd one down in the 2nd row. You may want to check your computer codes and make sure it is not your ECM or BCM as they can shut down ones fuel pump too.
