it is normally on the front of the engine on the intake manifold, but go to the parts store give them the year and make and model and engine number see if they have one and if they do look at it and buy it take it home and look for it on the car it won't be hard to find when you have the sample.

it has to have a air flow sensor ask them what it uses to take barometric pressure and air flow volum mesurement it has one it just not called by that name, I will find out and post you the name of it later today.

this car has a mass air flow sensor, the part Number is 74-50015 and runs about $121.44 for a remanufactured one You can buy at schucks or nappa or Autozone so they guys you spoke to had no clue. go back and tell them this number and then ifthey don't believe that call your local GM dealer and they will tell you that it has one and that it will cause your problem. Hope this helps.

My car is sputtering and dying. If I try to restart it, it will immediately go into sputtering/dying mode. If I wait a while an hour or so it will start up and drive fine.

When was the last time that the carburetor was stripped and cleaned? Also have you checked the fuel filter? Finally, the problem seems to come and go as the engine is run (and it gets hot) check that the fuel line and any electrical cables are well away from the hot engine as far as is possible.

My car is sputtering and a spark plug came out

I have a 1990 Buick Century with 3.3 v6. My car would sputter and the check engine light would come on and off while driving and the car would die when I came to a stop and tried to take off. I noticed my cooling fan turning on and off even when the car was not up to temp, and that is when the check engine light would come on. I changed the temp sensor and all is well.

Our 2000 Merc Villager had the engine light on and was making some sputtering noises. It died in the middle of my husband driving it. We went to have it towed the next morning and it started okay so he...

Could be cam sensor, crank sensor, PCM going bad. On these newer vehicles with all the electronics it is hard to pinpoint what it is till the check engine light does come on for it. I would suspect one of the 3 going bad though.
