No offence but are you sure that the cables are correct. If it started when new battery was connected you can try re-connecting making sure positive cables and negative cables are correct if still wont start you will have to follow all connections and possibly disconnect any thing extra that may be connected to battery such as stereo or power booster or ? only have connected what is needed to start and use the process of elimination procedures . Hopefully this helps some what .
If you can provide any more details that may help

A wet air filter was put into my nissan sentra gxe with a 1.8L engine. It will start and idle, but won't rev much past 2000 rpm's. The filter was rmoved and the car sat in the sun all day hopi

never wash or wet an air filter as it closes up the pores in the paper element
fit a new element and then run the fault codes or reset the ECM using a scan tool

I have a 2001 nissan sentra that the battery tests good, alternator tests good, but will only run for about 20 minutes then slowly dies and the battery has to be recharged, any ideas on the problem?

if alternator and belt are ok, then check the ground for the neagative on batteryor the cable end itself. car running accessories off, then you should have at least 13.5-14.5 at battery! if less then 13 volts with everything off. then alt, or wiring is the problem. make sure battery terminals are clean and tight at battery. take negative cable off battery while its running. if it quits its a bad alternator, if it stays running alt, is ok. check all the fuses and relays, just to be sure. if you think you have a drain on battery. remove fuses and relays one at a time, until you find the one curcuit thats causing the drain. then replace that fuse or relay. do not pull the pcm fuse or other kam-sensitive modules until you have checked the other curcuits. if the pcm is not getting proper voltage, it will die out ! battery could be weak! battery voltage by itself should be at least 12.68 volts this is at 100%. good-day !

its a bad alternator, a bad diode, replace the alternator this will solve your problem, when these alternators go bad the dash lights come on,it sounds like it sometimes charges and other times not,the car was charging when they got it so they really couldnt find much, ive run into this alot, check the connection at the alternator and battery if connections are good then replace the alternator, good luck.
