Need to determine if the guage is working at all. if the ground is bad, the guage wont read right.. try to ground the sender plate to the frame and see if it works ..the worst case calls for removal of the entire tank to properly check it...

Where to check tranny fluid, cant find dipstick??

1999 Isuzu Troopers w/automatic transmissions do not come with a dipstick. It is a sealed transmission just like a manual transmission. The fluid must be checked by removing the fill plug. Emergency brake on, engine running, warmed up ,vehicle in neutral. When removing the fill plug ,which is on the side of transmission- at the top, fluid should slightly drip out. If fluid doesnt drip out you need to add fluid. You will need a small hand pump to fill it.
tip

Battery Replacement

If you still have your stock battery, try adding DESTILLED WATER ONLY to the fill cap indicated by the yellow arrows. Most batteries sold here in the states are maintenance free type ones. Fill the battery up to the fill lines on the side before trying to charge her up. If charging doesnt work, its time to replace

Fule gauge dose not work right

Does it stick at about half full? I would fill up, the gauge would show full then after 60-70 mile when gauge should show less than half to a 1/4 tank the gauge still showed 1/2 tank so I'd go ahead and fill it up. Finally, I watched my mileage and when my yellow low on gas light came on I filled it half full. After a couple of weeks I filled it up and the gauge has worked every since.
