I have a 2005 Chrysler pacifica 3.5, instead of using my water pump was leaking and I was using water instead of anti freeze. it got really cold and froze everything. now it wont crank. someone said that it just may be my freeze plugs and someone says that this car doesn't even have them. can u plz help me
Chances are the block does have freeze plugs, but they would have nothing to do with the engine not cranking. The plugs are a thin metal cup that will pop out if the block freezes to help prevent the block from cracking. Even if they pop out the block can still be damaged. That includes the cylinders.
If the plugs popped out, you would loose what was in the radiator.
SOURCE: water pump
Fill the radiator completely with coolant mixture. Let the engine warm up 10 to 15 mins. Is the upper radiator hose warm? If yes, then the water pump and thermostat are good. If all this works, then the leak is somewhere else. Hope this helps.

Jay from Ma,
You have it backwards the rear three are accessable with the front three being under the intake. To remove the intake simply remove throttle body and aproxamently 15 other bolts.

First find where the leak is coming from. Check the bottom of the radiator first for white corrosion. If the leak puddles in the fron and you see white corrosion on teh bottom (fins) of the radiator, chances are you just need to replace it.

check where the leak come from, could be the receivior overfill, a trransm. cooling line in radiator, or an engine block seal worn. sammyc47.

sc1232ip, I think that this is definitely a head gasket problem. When the coolant boils out of the everflow bottle it is because combustion gases are getting by the gasket and heating the coolant faster than the radiator can cool it down and this is the easiet place for it to escape. Also the code po300 for a Chrysler is for a misfire detected. One of your cylinders are getting oil or coolant into them causing this. You didn't mention what color your exhaust fumes were. Are they white (coolant) and have a sweet odor to them or do they have a blue tint to them (oil). Another possibility is a crack cylinder head. Good luck with this.
