I would do a compression test. Chances are the head gasket blew and thats how the coolant entered the cylinders, and how the hose blew. You may need a head gasket replacement.

SOURCE: smoke from the vents after upper heater hose replaced

Smoke through the vents indicates a heater core issue. If you are losing coolant and / or getting coolant inside the car (check the floor boards) this would tend to confirm a heater core. Best of luck to you.

My fuse panel dose not say which one is for rear defrost my 2005 dodge neon and I have no owners manual

The fuse you need is in the fuse box inside the vehicle. It will be behind a trim panel in the end of the dashboard with the vehicle door open. Check fuses 6 and 7. Some features in a vehicle share a fuse. **Note** ALWAYS replace a fuse with one the same colour and Amp rating.
try this website it lists most fuses and which fuse box it is in.

How to remove radiator

TYou will have to put the vehicle up un ramps, because the fan assembly must be removed from the bottom rather than the top of the radiator. The Caliber has an electric cooling fan which, which must be disconnected electrically before removal. Then remove the fan shroud from the radiator. Drain the radiator by removing the lower radiator hose (you may be able to reuse this coolant later). The remove the upper radiator hose and the tube going to the coolant recovery tank. Unbolt the radiator's mounting bolts , and either lift the radiator out or (if there isn't enough clearance to lift it) lower it out the same way as the fan. Install the new radiator by reversing the process. Good luck.

Replace thremostat on 2005 dodge stratus

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Drain pan, Pliers, Socket wrench, Socket set, metric
    2.0L and 2.4L Engines
  1. 1 Locate the thermostat by following the upper radiator hose if your car has a four-cylinder engine, or the lower hose if your car has a six-cylinder engine. The hoses are thick rubber hoses that run from the radiator. The other end of the appropriate hose attaches to the engine block at the thermostat housing. Place a clean drain pan below the thermostat housing, then disconnect the hoses from the housing. To remove the hoses, squeeze the tabs on the clamps with a pair of pliers. Make sure that the coolant drains into the pan.
  2. 2 Unbolt the coolant outlet connector from the thermostat housing to reveal the thermostat. It is held in place by two bolts. Remove and replace the thermostat and gasket underneath. Bolt the connector back in place and reattach all hoses you disconnected in the previous step.
  3. 3 Refill the coolant tank with the drained coolant. Run the engine with the radiator cap removed for at least ten minutes to bleed air from the system. Replace the cap.
hope this hepls you.

I have a 2005 neon sxt, i want to up;grade todual exhaust. Can i purchase the muffler for the Srt4?

With, all due Respect. You guys and charging , money for information, that any reputable Mechanic, will give for free. The simplest way , i deem , is to purchase the parts, that are from the Srt4., or find an after-market solution. The same for the Brakes. Thanks;;;;;;
