2002 honda cr v select/reset button broken

The select/reset button no longer cycles through the trip meter (total/trip a/trip b). Trip meter is stuck on trip b. Also, when attempting to reset Maint Req'd indicator after an oil change, the procedure using the select/reset button does not work. So ... trip meter is stuck on trip a and I also cannot clear Maint Req'd light. How do I 'fix' the select/reset button.

Sorry, trip meter is stuck on trip b, not a. Not that it matters I guess. :p

Reset Procedure for your "Maintenance Required" lamp (MAINT REQD)

I get many calls a week for this procedure...
This is really easy! Follow these directions:

Turn the key ON

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "ODO" and the total mileage traveled. If it is on "Trip A" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "ODO", and the total miles traveled.

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it in.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON

Observe the Odometer display. The total mileage traveled will disappear, and you will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, the total mileage traveled will redisplay.

Release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.

Hope this helps!

The odometer and RPM gauge on 03 SXT are stuck. They went 360 back

Try this, it works on other Chrysler products.

Insert key and turn to run position. put odometer on the trip position. turn key off.

While holding trip meter reset button in, turn key to run position ( dash lights will be on ) release trip meter reset button and watch the gauge cluster go through a test cycle.

After this cycle the gauges should return back to normal.

Hope this works for you.

SERVICE REQUIRED LIGHT IN ON IN 2002 HONDAY

Most modern cars have what are commonly called Service Lights. Small lights on the instrument panel can now alert drivers when it is time for service.

Most vehicles do this through a computer calculating how many miles have accumulated since the last service.

However, some vehicles use sensors to gather this data. We have compiled a listing on the procedures to reset the reminder lights on your car, if it is equipped.

If you do not see the reset procedure for your vehicle:Reference the owner's manual that came with your vehicle. Reset procedures are often described in depth with illustrations:

turn the key to the accesories position. pump the break pedal 3 times. the check engin light should flash. then turn the key to the off position and then start the car. the light should reset.

I am not sure if that works I have a 2004 Odysey and I did this and it worked.

While the car is off, push and _hold_ in your Trip meter button, then while still holding that button in... turn your ignition key to _On_ (not start). Wait until light goes out or you need a hair cut... which ever comes 1st. LOL, seriously it should go out in about 15 seconds or less

For a 2007 Honda Odyssey: Turn your ignition to the On position. Press and hold down the trip meter button for ~10 seconds (until the display blinks). Release the trip meter button. Press and hold the trip meter button a second time for ~5 seconds (until the display shows your oil at 100%).

Hope helped.

Maint req light flashes when i turn on my 2005 honda C.R.V. It has been serviced today by independant garage.

They must have forgotten to reset the light. If you take a look in the service manual it should tell you how to reset it. With most hondas you simply hold the trip reset button and turn the ignition on. Continue holding the trip reset button until the light turns off.
