sounds like your lower gasket is shot, and while under pressure its slowly leaking through a cracked gasket try getting gasket sealent and put on seal crack let it sit for a day or 2 it should obsorb in and fix the gasket that should probably do the trick

the outer bearings can be driven in using a suitable Very Large socket. Removing the old ones either requires a puller or a cutting torch. I use either depending on the state of the bearings.
when driving new ones in, make sure
To answer the other question, yes you do have to remove the driveshaft to replace the oil seal. the Diff ack-plate has to be removed, the locking horseshoes from the ends of the driveshaft, & the wheels. It takes about 1 hour to remove them & clean the backplate. about another to reassemble.
I charge about $140 plus parts
SOURCE: rear main seal leaks..does this affect transmission??
A leaking rear main seal will not cause your transmission to leak.
The transmission has its own seal and should not leak because of the engine rear main seal.
Due to the labor involved in replacing the rear main seal on the engine, it is best if you replace the front transmission seal at the same time if possible.
Installation varies on different vehicles but the principles are the same.
