If your lucky the code may have been written on the back of the manuel. If not and may not have been set try 0000, and if that does not work and your good with the dealer they may help you reprogram the radio free of charge since they are always disconnecting batteries.
You could always log on to www.radio-code.com and they can help you unlock your radio.

The code is unique to each radio. You will need to show proof of purchase and the radio serial number to a Chrysler dealer to get the unlock code for the radio you purchased.

Unfortunately, these Chrysler codes are not available anywhere on the Net for free. However, you can get these codes from the serial number here. I have always found them cheap and reliable.

As yours is one of the older Chrysler radios you need to provide them with the part no. as well as the serial no. They will email the code right back to you on the same day and I can vouch for them as I use this site for units I repair that occassionally need a code.

Code radio grand cherokee 2002

The security codes are meant to be different for each individual radio, so you need the code for your specific unit. If the original owner didn't keep a note of it you'll have to get it through DaimlerChrysler. Just give them the serial number of your radio (you may need to do this through your local Jeep dealer).

I had same problem last year when I too changed the battery and had lost the code. I did a search using "radio codes" and a UK site produced the answer in a few hours for a small sum. You will need the radio serial number which is on the rear or top of the radio.
