Need a serpentine belt for 02 jetta 24v vr6 but cant wait on part. is there a way I can use another type of belt even if i have to bypass the a/c?

Doesn't have to be permanent fix just something that'll work for awhile without damaging anything

Hello Jesse, my name is Andy and yes definitely you can do it if you have the belt take it to the closest autoparts and ask them permission to walk and check for the belts because if you ask them todo so they will say...... WE DON HAVE IT OR WE DONT DO THAT......... my advice will be to wait for the right belt .........

1.1 mm is the standard gap for a platinum tipped plug. Plugs for this car usually come pre-set but it's always worth checking before installing. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1999 vw jetta vr6 abs light stays on, but brakes work fine

the only way you will find this out is to have a diagnostic machine plugged in and the fault memory read to check what fault is logged, it could be anything from a ABS wheel speed sensor to a control module fault, to save money in the long run i would advise you get the fault memory read first. hope this helps

SOURCE: 2000 VW jetta VR6 windshield wipers wont work

first try the fues box see if you have a blown fues, next if you put your wipers on can you hear the motor running for them? if you can the linkage has poped off from the motor, its a bit awkward to get it back on and no gaurentee that it will saty on, you might have to replace linkage, or, it might be the cogs on the actual wiper arms have splayed and are now smooth so they dont grip to move, you can take them off by the nut on the arm , get a can (coke can or simular) cut a rectangle out of it the hight and width if the cog, rap it round the cog, (make sure it does not overlap on the ends) and force the arm back into place and then do the nut up, this is just a short quick fix if that is the case you will have to replace the motor, also you can check the relay to the motor in the fues box, give it a tap a couple of times it might work again if not replace it...hope you find these sugestions helpful

How do I find a belt for 02 buick rendezvous bypassing the power steering pulley. How do I find out the size of the belt needed to do this

You have a serpentine belt which is one belt running everything on the engine. You can not bypass the steering unit as we use to could when cars had several belts and power steering was optional and not factory on many vehicles. Is your steering unit not working ?

I'm trying to buy a good vw jetta, I found one

Most VW are interferance motors. That would mean the pistons could have hit some valves. I would stay away.
Also have you seen the motor? I may be off but I thought the VR6's had a chain. Even if, its still an interfernce motor.

How to change serpentine belt and tensioner 1995 jetta vr6

Sorry for the delay...

Click on the following Link. This is listed under "Timing Belt", however it has both the Serpentine Belt and Tensioner removal Diagram.

I would also suggest that if you want to work on your vehicle that you purchase a Haynes or Chilton Manual, available at most auto parts stores for $20 to $25.

Let me know if this helped....

2003 Jetta tdi serpentine belt

hi doug

there should be a diagram for the belt somewhere under the hood of your car usually adjacent to the emission (VECI) label near the rad the belt or on the actual hood
the tensioner is automatic adjusting. using a ratchet and the proper size socket rotate the tensioner (usually anticlockwise but youll be able to tell as you turn it) to release tension and slip the belt off of the alternator pulley. be careful not to let go of the tensioner while slipping the belt off or you will hurt your fingers!
