SOURCE: steering wheel column very loose only holds in up position

I've had experience with two of these cars now. The mounting positions where the steering rack bolts to the fire wall rust away leaving the rack floating. Usually long before the rack starts to float the car leaks . Water starts to come in where the firewall rusted out. Its dangerous and should not be driven like this.

How to install an ignition lock cylinder 1995 Mazda B2300

To install an ignition lock cylinder in a 1995 Mazda B2300, follow these steps:
  1. Turn the key to the "on" position: Insert the new ignition lock cylinder into the steering column and turn the key to the "on" position. This will align the lock cylinder with the steering column.
  2. Reinstall the pin or screw: Look for a small pin or screw located near the base of the cylinder and reinstall it to secure the lock cylinder in place.
  3. Reinstall the ignition switch: Slide the ignition switch back into place, making sure it clicks into place. Re-attach the locking tab.
  4. Reinstall the steering column covers: Carefully reinstall the steering column covers and secure them with the screws.
  5. Test the new ignition lock cylinder: Reconnect the battery and test the new ignition lock cylinder to make sure it's working properly. The engine should start without any problems, and the key should turn smoothly in the lock cylinder.
That's it! With these simple steps, you should be able to install a new ignition lock cylinder in your 1995 Mazda B2300. If you have any difficulty or questions during the process, it's always a good idea to consult your vehicle's owner's manual or contact a professional mechanic for assistance.

Suspension noise?

If the alignment was checked then the mechanic had to shake down the front end to look for any loose parts that would effect it. Sway bar links on Mazadas commonly make noise and are not checked while doing alignment. (they do not effect tire wear) If you are handy enough to take your front wheels off you can check for play in these joints. There is a bar that runs through your car and connects to either the strut or the lower control arm. Try moving the links that connect the bar up and down to see if there is any play. Usually they loose grease and make clunking noises while force is applied. The strut mounts could also be going bad, but you would here the noise all the time.

How to install Pwr Steering in 94 Mazda B2300 (same as Ford Rngr)

You'll also need to change the steering box. The stock axle should be okay to use. Be careful hooking up the new box and make sure it is centered, the same number of turns to the stop when you turn it left or right. Also make sure the pitman arm is the same length, on the Ranger, so the front end isn't out of whack, and check the clearance at the radiator and fan. Hope this helps.

I have a mazda 2003 b2300 and both of my turn signals went out, outside and inside. the fuse is still good, whats wrong?

Check the turn switch actuator in the steering column. It might be loose, out of postion or broke. You can remove the column upper and lower covers and see how it looks fairly easily.
