Replaced thermostat but still overheating?
Coolant system have bleed points. There is air in your system that needs to be purged out through the purge valves.. There maybe a few. You have to slightly open them when you first fill the system and let the coolant circulate till a little bit of coolant comes from bleed valves then you close them. Letting the system purge air by leaving the radiator cap open is not enough. Are you sure you put the correct temperature thermostat in , and facing the correct way?
Having trouble removing the alternator.
I belive there is a pulley that needs to be removed in order to access the alternator. It is a challenge but the bolts are all accessable it just takes a bit to figure out. I know there was one bolt I had to get at from under the car.

check spark plugs, leads if fitted or ignition coils sounds like spark is "jumping" due to poor insulation, cheapest option is to try plugs first then leads( if fitted) if it is induvidial coils, wait untill engine is running ok then spray water on each coil in turn and not the effect

have someone scan the vehicle with a scanner and look at the coolant temperature sensor temperature if it shows -34 degrees, that is negetive 34 degrees then replace the coolant temp sensor.
