What does it mean if my abs light is on as well as the brake light. They both came on at the same time, however, the car brakes fine
Could be your brake fluid is low or your abs sensor is bad, here's a link to your sensor.

Hmm, I'm not sure what a main chip is but, there is a few reasons for this problem.
Now when your warning lights go on, the computer sets a DTC code which is the key to helping solve this problem. If you can get the DTC (Data Trouble Code) from the dealership or from someone who can scan your can, I can better assist you in figuring out what's wrong. Hope this helps.

hi the rear high level brake warning light in rear screen ? works with the other two brake lights at same time when you press brake pedal with ignition on ? so may i suggest you check the other brake lights are working ? if not ? check these bulbs? reason being that from the symptoms you describe that high level light is staying on ? it would suggest that the brake light switch at the pedal is not operating ie not putting brake lights off when pedal is off and would suspect the brake lights have been on for some time and burned bulbs out due to the brakelight element in bulbs are high wattage if you check on what i have suggested? and is the case ? come back and will advise you how to adjust brake switch easy diy hope this helps? best wishes from the uk

Krafty930 with brake, VSC off and ABS lights on. You share a common problem with many Toyota owners. My 2003 Sequioa has the same issue. There is no solution. Dealers will replace the air sensors and then the computer all for $2,500 - $3,500. This will not solve the issue. The internet has thousands of complaints re this problem, but Toyota has disowned the issue and declined resolution, even for vehicles under warranty. The lights drive me crazy and I still don't know if there is a functional problem, a wiring problem or a computer problem with the VSC system. To date, I have learned of no reports relating this problem to vehicular deaths, so I really am not holding my breath waiting for Toyota to provide a solution. Sorry that you share this problem, but perhaps my response will help to stop you from "spinning your wheels" too much trying to resolve this issue.

well, a hard firm pedal, usually indicates a bad brake booster or a vacuum leak to booster or the vacuum check valve, on booster. TO TEST BRAKE BOOSTER; pump brakes several times with engine off to deplete stored vacuum. turn on engine with pushing slightly on pedal. you should feel the pedal fade away a bit and then become firm, but not hard. if you feel nothing at the pedal when engine starts the booster is at fault. good-luck !!
Hello
Whenever the ABS warning light comes on in the instrument cluster and it stays on it means the systems electronic control module (computer) has detected a problem in one or more of the inputs to the module, an ABS fault code is present as long as the ABS light is on. So what must be done to correct this? You must have the ABS electronic control module scanned with a special tool to read the fault code, then a trained technicain will diagnose and repair the defective part or wiring. Most times this is a wheel speed sensor (one for each wheel) that gives an erratic signal. While the light is on all you have is regular non-ABS brakes. I assume here the light is on all the time? Until the problem(s) are fixed that are keeping the light on are repaired it will no go off, it can't be reset manually.
