P0456 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (Very Small Leak)
Description:
The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the complete evaporative emission (EVAP)
control system for the presence of a very small fuel vapor leak. The system failure occurs when a fuel vapor leak from an opening as small as 0.508 mm (0.020 inch) is detected by
the EVAP running loss monitor test.
Possible Causes:
• Very small holes or cuts in the fuel vapor hoses/tubes
• Loose fuel vapor hose/tube connections to the EVAP system components
• EVAP system component seals leaking. See the Possible Causes for DTC P0442
Diagnostic Aids:
Check for a missing fuel filler cap or the integrity of the cap.
Check for loose or damaged vapor hoses. Visually inspect the EVAP canister inlet port, CV solenoid filter, and canister vent hose assembly for contamination or debris.

P1413 is the electric secondary air injection pump related, most times the issue is with one of three things, the relay for the pump motor is defective, the air injection hoses havwe come off at the pump, or the pump motor is defective, do you hear the pump run when you jumper the relay? check that first.

You either have a bad coil pack or low compression in the cylinder. Do a compression test to verify.

P0304: Cylinder Misfire Detected (#4)

-Last number corresponds to which cylinder is misfiring.

Could be a faulty spark plug or wire. Try changing the spark plug from the 4 Cylinder to another and see what happens; If the different cylinder misfires, then it is the spark plug. If not, it could be the wires on cylinder 4.

check your injector (if it's stuck open it'll code out), try swapping it with another one. other cause is a faulty PCM (ECU).

Getting a cylinder 6 misfire I have replaced coil rotor button dist cap plus and wires were do I go from here code wont go away and eng still has rough idle

Fuel injector or wire to it. Check the wire with a test light or noid as the car is running. The light should flash. Wires good. Use an ohm meter and check the lead in the injector. Should be 11 to 15 ohms. After that is a compression test on that cylinder. No compression is a blown head gasket. If all that checks good, Then I would be looking at the intake manifold gasket. They can blow and pump coolant in a cylinder. Year make and model helps. Some models have know problems.

1985 mustang 3.8 engine running way too rich

This an '85 Mustang with a 3.8 L v-6? Thought they only had the carbureted 4 cylinder , and a 302 v-8, possibly throttle body injected?

Check air delivery system, check timing, any trouble codes?

How to fix a 1998 ford mustang 4.8L P0302 code

Since you've replaced everything on that cylinder, the only other possible cause is heavy carbon build up, not allowing the valves to seat properly, or you just have a bad valve sealing condition in general. Best way to find out is a cylinder leak down test. It will show things a regular compression test won't.

1996 mustang 6 cylinder. trouble code says either gas cap (we replaced that already), fuel return line( checked it, didn't find and cracks or breaks that I could see), or possible vaccum leak (not sure...

Hello, There is a test called the "smoke" test which is done with a machine they hook up to the gasoline venting system. You could easily have a leak under the mounting straps for your fueltank.

The "smoke" test is the best way to find difficult leaks. Also remember to clear the light Code from the computer, it would take 25-35 Startups to clear itself.

Without clearing the Code, you may have already fixed the problem and don't know it. Sometimes you can clear the computer by disconnecting the NEG battery cable for 10 minutes. Some clients have radio problems after doing this, so I recommend going to Autozone, Oreilys, or Advance for a free scan and to clear the computer.

Getting a intermittant misfire and an occasional srvc eng soon light sthe code says misfire cyl 1 but after i reset the light i goes back to intermittant missing

Check your ignition coils. If you don't have a coil for each plug then I'd bet thats going to be your problem. That or your spark plugs. I'd start with the coil that cylinder 1 runs through first though.

Check the plug and plug wire to #3, if they are ok test the fuel injector and test the compression on that cylinder.

Check engine light on

There are 100+ conditions that trigger a check eng light, run a self test and get the code or codes. I have attached a list of codes, it says GM but the codes are for the most part generic to all cars and light trucks 1996 and up, any of these will set the light.
