My 2004 highlander diesel terracan has gone into limp home mode..after having a head gasket done..how can we fix this.

run the fault codes to find the reason for the mode
it could be overheating from lack of coolant ( air lock initially)
gasket problem ( head tension incorrect) or loose or disconnected wiring harness connection from the head job.

Hi,my avanza was mixing,I have cylinder head checked twice and put new gaskets twice. The problem now is boiling and the idling changes on its own.

replacing head gaskets is not always the answer on its own
the reason the head gasket failed in the first place has to be addressed first
have the head machined by a head /engine reconditioning shop to ensure that it is not warped or cracked
next clean out the stud holes with a thread tap and compressed air
next get the correct tension settings as most modern engines do not have a tension but an angle of turn on the stud head to achieve the correct tension
next get the proper rotation of tightening the studs so that the head settles evenly on the gasket
next pull the thermostat and have it tested for correct operation and ensure that it is installed with the body of the unit facing the head or block
check that the fan/s are working and if there is a viscous fan hub involved have it replaced.

Hi I have a 1999 2.5 diesel Toyota Hiace. For the past year it has been leaking oil what seems to be around the head, towards the front. The van drives ok and doesn't overheat or lose water. Have taken it...

The oil galley is in this area and the leak is probably from oil pressure and a gasket tension problem. A proper head stud re-tension may help but the fix most probably willbe a new head gasket

Hi yea the vehicle has bad head gasket, thanks for ur time!

Remove the head and faulty gasket . For a good job have the head skimmed to make sure that it is not warped and fit a genuine head gasket as after market gasket do not always have all the necessary holes . RE tension the head studs in the correct order and to the correct tension and the job will be a good one.

Hi have 03 ford courier turbo diesel and a lot of steem is cuming out of the exhuast is it common foe them to crack heads or jst head gaskit

Usually if steam is coming out of the back then it's the head gasket. But, if you take the head off and find cracks then a new head or block will be required if Magnafluxing shows that it needs that.

The head gasket is cheaper than replacing the head, I'm sure you would know.

The radiator of my 2003 isuzu trooper has a mixture of water and diesel now, and per mechanic, we have to replace the overhaul gasket kit and cylinder head (though without testing), can we just proceed...

how did the diesel get in there? are you sure its diesel fuel or is it motor oil? then it could be head gasket problem. Or trans fluid, which would make it milky pink? Then it could be the trans cooler in the radiator leaking. If someone accidently put diesel fuel in it then just flush it out. If it has been in there long enough to start ruining hoses then replace those. why does he say gaskets? how does it run? does it overheat? then maybee head gaskets. and resurface heads.
