2006 Kia Spectra transmission will not have overdrive once it jerked. Usually RPM is at 2500 when driving up to 70 mph; but after it jerked, RPM will stay over 3000 when driving over 50mph, also it will start driving at low gear and no overdrive. After stopping and overnight, it will be starting normal until next jerk came. What are thw issues and solutions?

Try todo a transmission service if not check how many miles se when you drop the trans pan see if you have any metal shavings if you do transmission replacement.

I had the same issue and bought some sea foam transmission fluid product and it seems to have worked. Just be careful not to overfill it.

SOURCE: 2003 kia spectra check engine code p0604

I have bad news for you
p0604 is a transmission control module

check the connection at the transmission control module if there are no connection issues than you will need to replace the transmission controll module "tcm" there is no other test for that code.

good luck

SOURCE: Transmission is jerking violently then will not

That sounds like solenoid problems if this is an electrically controlled transmission. Fluid and filter change will likely NOT fix this. Flushing and filter change is preventive, not repair. Is the check engine light on? If so, rent a scanner and read the code(s). It should point out problems with transmission control. You likely need the services of a good transmission repair facility (many penny!).

Jeep cherokee jerks when shift into overdrive going 45 mph

If the engine has a rough idle you know you have a miss-fire or other problem with one or more cylinders.
When you shift into overdrive the engine is working harder than in normal drive because of the lower torque/RPM.
So any slight miss under normal conditions will be magnified in overdrive or with the ac on.
See if you can nail down the cause for the rough idle.

What is the o/d button on top of automatic gear stick for please

Over Drive..... Generally speaking, overdrive (OD) is the highest gear in the transmission. Overdrive allows the engine to operate at a lower rpm for a given road speed. This allows the vehicle to achieve better fuel efficiency, and often quieter operation on the highway. When it is switched on, an automatic transmission can shift into overdrive mode after a certain speed is reached (usually 70+ km/h [43+ mph] depending on the load). When it is off, the automatic transmission shifting is limited to the lower gears. For an automatic transmission, it is almost always best to select overdrive and allow the transmission to control engagement of the overdrive. (It may be necessary to switch it off if the vehicle is being operated in a mountainous area or when towing a trailer.) With a manual transmission, overdrive should usually be selected when the average speed is above 70 km/h (approx. 43 mph).

I have a 2006 Kia spectra . At about 70 mph the rpm gage will jump 2 or 3000 rpms every 4 or 5 seconds. I can feel a slight jump when it does. It almost feels like the trans. slips but I'm not sure. It has...

more than likely it IS your trans (servos that provide pressure to shift or a clogged filter try a flush before you change fuid AND filter) however it could be in the elec.system (wire short or bad plugs) change plugs and wires this may cure your problem and if not you don't loose anything but gain a tune-up. also could be fuel injectors or filter use a good fuel injector cleaner addative for 3 or 4 tankfulls and see if this helps.
