Testimonial: "Cleaned three ground-wire connections under hood. Problem appears to be solved. Checked for possible alternator problem by checking voltage across battery with lights, air conditioning and radio turned on. No flickering and alternator constant supply of 14.0 volts to battery at 2500 rpm. Thanks for your input!"

do you have the fog lamps on at the same time? If yes, don't use them.
If not, it could be the headlamp switch. Something is drawing too much current.

The headlamp switch will cause the lamps to turn off. The switch heats up and turns the headlamps off. It will cool down and work for about 10 minutes and cut out,

This can be poor grounding of the engine and alternator and battery as there is a potential drop. It can also be due to a mismatch with high load when the charging voltage is not balanced.
So since the alternator was replaced the rectifier/regulator also can have a small leak which is producing the soft light which goes off when the headlight is swithced off. A test may not show this because the charge would be seen but the fault is a tiny ac leak into the system due to the weak regulator. It might fail in the long run or casue static in radio.
