The starter went out in my 2003 dodge neon we changed it and now it wont start we've changed the coil, cranksensor, which feels loose when bolted tightly,it started twice but now wont fire at all...what could cause that
Could be many things, why did you change the starter? was it cranking the engine? if so you didnt need to replace it. I suspect the ignition module or coil pack. BUT, is it turning over or nothing at all, if there is nothing at all I suspect the ignition wire {not battery wire} on the terminal on the starter., does the car have a security/anti theft system? See if you can get a code reader on it to give you an error code, then research the code, that may tell you something, tough one guys without seeing it. hope I was of some use. good luck.
ps, just for fun...check ALL your fuses.

Its possible the security system has been set off. The security light on the dash will stay on if this is the case. The cause can be the key tumbler if it is the security.

Have you had the ignition switch changed? If the ignition switch is faulty you can have issues getting the car to turn over. Also when driving the car can just shut off. The contacts in the ignition switch just wear out over time. It's a good place to start looking.

when you replace crank sensor the crank sensor is going have to be reprogram or relearn before car will crank.

it sound like you have a bad crank sensor when the sensor gets hot it open circuits inside the sensor and you loose spark if you have access to a noid light see if you are loosing injector pulse also if so then you know its a good chance its the crank sensor
