You have a short or loose wire somewhere that is causing the voltage to drop from your alltinator.

1996 Plymouth breeze..light flashing red on dash above spedometer .could that draw enough power to drain the battery. Iam going to get a new battery tomorrow's his car is driving me bananas. Now the

Yes, if the car is left off and the light flashes and the battery condition is poor that COULD cause the problem. Put in a new batery and remove the door light and see if the problrm goes away. Chances are the door switch is bad ot there is an electical short. That door light might be on all the time and you don't know it if it is dim. Good Luck

Lights dim

Was any of the brake light bulbs changed recently, the wrong type of bulb may be used causing a short in the socket, and making the rest of the brake and signal circuit malfunction. I no bulbs were recently replaced, start with checking for corrosion in each bulb socket, signal and brake bulb sockets. Let us know what you find

2001 Civic dimmer not working

It's not high and low beam, it's the dash lights that are dim. I've hooked up many aftermarket radios but never knew it was a no no to hook up the dimmer/illumination orange wires in a '01 civic. I googled it and seen many others with similar issues like mine but nothing exactly like the issue I have.

All the dash lights work, they are dim though. The radio lights work but they are even more dim than the rest of the dash lights. I have check every single fuse under the dash and in the engine bay. The dim controller does not work at all now. I'm guessing that's the issue and from what I read, the dimmers circuit board is in the instrument cluster. Some can fix it, others can't.

I will probably end up buying a used instrument cluster off of ebay, they are not expensive. Hopefully that fixes it since everything else works.

Oh, yes, the brake lights work.

Ted, I think you answered the wrong question...I mentioned nothing about the battery or the low/hi beams

You Digital dash is working as it should, it is supposed to dim with the lights on so your eyes don't have to adjust, from looking ahead to checking speed and back

My dash lights and shift lights are not coming on

These problems are always frustrating. Some of the charades swicth directly via the stalk on the column, while others have interposing relays. A common problem with dimmed headlights, indicators and dash lamps on the charade is caused by the fuse box retaining screws becoming loose .... these screws are also the -ve path back to the battery via the chassis.

If you have a meter, check voltages between the fuses and various metal parts to see if you can suss out a poor continuity path. Check your chassis strap between the battery -ve and the body is clean and tight.
