SOURCE: turn key wont start, new battery, good fuses, bench test starter ok?

Have you tried shifting into neutral to start? If yes then perhaps the key switch is bad. One other thing to check would be the starter relay.

SOURCE: 06 pontiac grand prix wont start no clicking when you turn the key over even jump starting the battery, has dash lights & radio & parking lights. battery tested good. put a used starter & altinator on

Used parts such as starters and altinators don't last. It might **** but it sounds like you need to buy a new starter, altinator, and battery. Or just start with buying one at a time.

SOURCE: willnot start pulled starter bench tested ok

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

tapping the starter to make it work indicates a solenoid or armature problem
remove it and have it bench tested by an accredited auto electrician to eliminate it from the list of possible faults

99 frontier 4 x4, Starter wii not turn over not a sound. Bench tested it works fine. Dash lights come on, good battery. What is going on, have tested everything?

Check your battery connections. Disconnect them and clean the posts. If this does nothing then check both your positive and ground wires going to the starter. You are not getting juice for one reason or the other.

Ford falcon wont start

pull the starter and fix the solenoid or replace the solenoid. It is engaging the armature with out engaging the pinion into the ring gear or the pinion override clutch is failed. Have a reputable auto electrician check it on the bench

2000 ford windstar won't start

Most parts stores can bench test the starter. Also verify that when you turn the key on that there is a click in the relay cluster under the hood by the battery which would be the starter relay activating to power the starter solenoid. If you fail to hear this click then locate and swap the relay with one that does work like the headlamps. If again this fails to work, (assuming you bench tested the starter and it passed) you can try bypassing the relay with a paperclip after probing the contacts and finding a power in and a lead that is not grounded by using the ohm meter to probe it to the battery ground. If you feel comfortable to try this and it cranks and starts or at least cranks, then suspect the neutral safety switch. This is possibly located on the transmission or the steering column at the gear shift selector. This switch only allows the vehicle to be started in park or neutral with an automatic. I doubt its a manual, but if so then check the clutch switch at the top of the clutch, just put a paper clip in its connector and try starting the van while out of gear. But in cases like this if the starter passes a bench test then usually the neutral switch or starter relay has failed.

Whole Electrical system shuts down when ignition key turned

Try cleaning the battery connectors at both ends and make sure the ground at the frame is clear of rust. If that check out, drop the starter and have it bench tested
