99 3.o v6 grand caravan started hesitated while drive not bad but could tell. for a month went by then after being parked at work it wouldn't start got it towed home figured it was the fuel filter so i replaced still same problem replaced fuel pump with no improvement it does start after cranking for a min and idles fine. Accerlerate slow is fine up to about 25 mph then it just cuts out same with heavy accelerating just cuts out completely but upon release of the gas pedal it returns to normal idle operation only trouble codes come up are 23 and 55 any help would be appreciated on where or what to look at next Aug 31, 2013

    has bad oil leak from valve cover but its always leaked

    Those codes: 23 is bad intake temperature sensor. 55 is the signal for the end of the codes. So you really only have one and it is the MAF module that senses the air temp. With no signal from that sensor the engine does not know how to set the air fuel ratio.

    ok i took it in to have the codes read and the guy at the shop said it was TPS so i replaced it and still the same so i am sure you are correct. WHere i might find this MAF module to replace

    thanks found it was map tho i guess mine dont have maf but you got me in the direction appreciate you help

How are you getting those codes? They dont match with any lists for that year and make

SOURCE: Perfect Idle, no Codes, but stepping on gas causes hesitation

i would try cleaning mass air sensor, its mounted in air duct between air filter and throttle body, they sell the cleaner at auto parts stores, also as stated bofore make sure the intake pipe clamps are tight and it's not cracked, if that doen't fix it i would investigate a fuel pressure problem either a weak pump or problem with regulator

More then likely this is all caused by a cool named car part called the clockspring. It is located in the steering column. The good news though, call a Dodge dealer, I believe this is an item/repair covered under recall/warrenty!

sounds to me like a siezed up ac unit.. it would not spin while all other pulleys spin... thus causing the broken belt.. hope that helps you

Probably not. Sounds like a bad ground. The ground connecting point for the door is behind the drivers side kick panel, lower left. And the ground for the fuel sending unit is on the drivers side fender well. First I would unplug the connection at the tank (you can usually access this plug without drooping the tank) and check for corrosion. Clean it if any and take a paper clip and bend the tabs a little in the plug to make a better connection.

Have you ever put in the gasoline tank any fuel injector cleaner yet because your injectors which injects the fuel of gasoline, if the injectors are not injecting enough fuel into the piston chambers that the fuel injectors needs to be clean to allow enough fuel to come in so go buy injector cleaner at autozone and put the whole thing into the gasoline tank and then drive. Your fuel injectors are clogged or going serious bad on you so you might have to replace them as well but first try to put fuel injector cleaner and see.

faulty sensor in teh bumper or bad connection, im not sure where the main module is on them. most likely in rear pannel, dr or pass side, check for rock beaten wires under the back of the van.

could be the starter but could also be a relay that is not working properly. the relays are under the hood. you would have to have someone under the hood and someone turning the key at the same time to see if the relay is working. if it works every time you turn the key then its probably the starter.
