Changing Front Shocks on 2001 Tundra

I was wondering if anyone has done this in the past and what should I expect to run accross. I am aware of the spring compressors but otherwise any hidden trap doors? Is it easy?

Not shocks, but struts, need compressor and probably realign the front end afterwards.

Its pretty straight forward with the proper spring compressor, the springs are pretty strong. After you remove them from the truck mark the top plate and spring to maintain the proper orientation when you swap out the shock. If the top plate turns it'll be hard to get the studs lined up on install.

I have a 2008 Envoy change the springs on the rear the shocks on the rear tire on the rear still rides shaky over bump.im wondering the only thing left is rear control arms upper and lower anyone...

So your main problem is body roll? Did you replace the swaybar bushings? Replacing my swaybar bushing on my 06 fixed my body roll problems. If you did, did you get the right size? There are 2 different sizes of bushings. $3500 for the front end??? Look at Detroit Axle next time. I did my entire suspension for $410, including hubs, shocks, struts, UCA, LCA, Links, inner, and outter tie rods.

Does a 2001 buick lesabre have shocks ? if so how much does it cost to replace?

Ok first of all your car has shocks in the rear and they are not very hard to replace or terribly expensive. The front has what they call struts which in effect are shocks with a springs wrapped around them as an assembly. Replacing struts can be expensive and will probably need to be changed by a shop if you are not equipped to do it yourself. You will most likely need to get the wheels aligned as well. I recommend calling around to different shops for a price. My guess for new front struts installed plus the alignment is $300-$400.

Do i have shocks and or struts also my abs light came on for a week or so than went off i know i need wheel bearings is the sensor included i have 72000mi any thing else i should be aware of at this point...

what kind of car do you have, you probably have struts in the front and shocks in the rear, and no the sensor will not be included in the wheel bearings, but if the wheel is not making a roaring noise you may not need new bearings, have someone you trust drive it and listen to it and you may be able to avoid paying a fortune for something you don't need.

How to change front strut on 2001 toyota tundra?

Yes you need a spring compressor to remove the strut if you take it apart you will have no way to compress the spring to get the strut back together.

Shocks

Hi, as far as im aware these are roughly the same as the UK spec Nissan X- trail. The suspension system/shocks are relatively staright forward. Fairly basic system anyone with basic vechile knowledge should be able to change them.
