2000 nissan altima intermittant ac clutch operation

Loose wire to clutch coil, bad relay or bad control. I would start at the clutch and make sure the wire isnt loose or showing through worn insulation. See what a relay costs and may replace that if cheap enough.

it can be an intermittant power relay under the hood,an intermittant low pressure switch on the receiver can under the hood on the passenger side of the engine compartment, when it stops, wiggle any and all wiring associated with the system be it under the hood or behind the dash as it also can be an intermittant connection
