My 2000 tahoe driver side power seat not working correctly. The side next to console goes back but the side next to door only travels approximately 1/4 inch and stops causing the other side to bind up twist the seat. What could be causing the outer side not work while the other side is working? I can't get seat out becuase it is stuck all the way forward and can't get nut off bolt.

as long as nothing is stuck in track and you hear no noise when using switches, look for broken wire at connector or in harness. ck fuse first of course, if blown, something may be stuck in track causing it to stop and blowing fuse

If the drivers side does absolutely nothing, there is a chance that power plug that goes into the door has come apart. There is a rubber boot that goes from the cab to the door, that is where the wires run. The power plug is usually right before the boot or right after.

the linkage behind the handle either the retaining clip broke or popped off need to remove the door panel to check and fix
Testimonial: "Thanks I thought it might be a cable or linkage. Much thanks"

this can be a few things, you may have a bad motor, or a broken cable to motor or seat track and last maybe a broken track, the best way to diagnose would be to remove the seat flip it over while still conected, meaning; remove the bolts at the bottom of the seat then push seat back toward the rear seat this way you can see the track, now move the controls as you watch the track,it may go sideways instead of straight back or foward this will show you what side is not working from there you can see if its a cable broken or track or motor not turning .

The problem is probably due to some shims in the seat rails that have "dissolved". I have posted a video on YouTube that shows what I needed to do to repair my seat. http://youtu.be/sOjivYnXMAQ
