Roaring in rear of 1998 Honda Accord coupe 3.0 V6

I have a roaring in my Accord that is very loud at about 45, seems to get a little quieter at about 65-70 and all but goes away when I go into hard left or right hand turns. Is it the wheel bearing assembly or wheel bearing or could it be something else such as brakes? Also, sometimes when I start the vehicle in the mornings and shift out of gear into reverse it seems to shift hard into gear(auto trans). Is this a sign the tranny is getting ready to die on me? The car has nearly 210,000 miles on it and I don't want to sink a whole bunch of money in it if it has major issues. Thanks for any help you can give!

Ford explorer making loud roaring noise at 35 to 45 mph

what year is your explorer, if it is a newer one say within the last 10 years it could be from either the rear end or it could be from a hub bearing in the front end. these have problems with hub bearings going out.

Loud Roaring Noise

This sounds like a noisy wheel bearing, they really can get loud, but quite when u turn because the weight comes off the wheel..

Makes a low roaring noise when you are at crusing speed.

One of the front wheel bearings are bad. Jack it up and see if one is loose, the noise will usually change if you swerve back and forth while driving. Could also be a rear pinion bearing in the rear axle.
