The location is on the exhaust most time close to the catalytic converter and also try autozone.com to see if they have your car listed for diagrams pictures and step by step instructions if your car is not listed then try your local library they have all the car manuals and even copy them for you

Need the location of O2 sensor (Jeep Laredo 2012 V6 3.7L Oxygen Sensor 1/1 Location)

They should be a welded receptacle - one just in front of the CAT and one just after the CAT. They usually have a teflon wire leading to them which is distinctly different than other wiring in the car.

I have a 2003 ford pickup truck f150 ..4.6 engine and the light indicated ..code PO172, I have changed, sptk.plugs, coils, the 4 oxigen sensors, egr valve, 2 air vaccums, and the light still on,

P0172 - System Too Rich (Bank 1)
Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a rich condition (too little oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 1 is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1.

Note: This DTC is very similar to P0175, and in fact your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.

Symptoms: You will more than likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a misfire.

Causes: A code P0172 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters can cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
There could be a vacuum leak.
There could be a fuel pressure or delivery problem

Possible solutions include:
Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary
Cleanthe MAF sensor. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
Inspect fuel lines for cracks, leaks, or pinches
Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail
Check the fuel injectors, they may be dirty. Use fuel injector cleaner or get them professionally cleaned/replaced.
Check for an exhaust leak before the first oxygen sensor (this is unlikely to cause the problem, but it is possible)

Hope this helps.

WHICH O2 SENSOR HAS THE HEATER CIRCUIT IN IT BEFORE OR AFTER THE CATALYST

Hi.
The Oxigen sensor are in diferent kind.
1 -- With a single wire. " is only oxigen sensor"
2 -- With 2 wires " is only oxigen sensor"
3 -- With 3 wires " Is oxigen and heater sensor"
4 -- With 4 wires " is oxigen sensor and heater sensor.
5 -- with 6 wires " is oxigen, heater A/F sensor" normally Nissan)

OK........Your question.
Depend of the year of your car.
But all the car they are Bank 1 or single bank. Engine in line
4 cyl . or 6 cyl. And are identified sensor 1 bank 1 and sensor 2 bank 1. S11 or S21.
But all the Engines in V are bank 1 and bank 2.
Sensor 1 bank 1, sensor 2 bank 1, S11 or S21.
Sensor 1 bank 2, sensor 2 bank 2, S12 or S22.
Sensor one is alway before catalystic.
Sensor two is alway after catalystic.

If you have problen with the oxigen sensor you need to put a scanner to see the number of code, The number of code will give the especific sensor that you need to replace.
The code can be heater or oxigen. and can be refer to a the same sensor.

I hope this information work for youu.
Thank you for use fixya.
