Can't get new axles to seat into trans

I am trying to install new axles in a '99 Daewoo Leganza with an automatic transmission. I have replaced axles on my '90 Honda Civic with manual trans without any problems. I can't get the axles to seat completly into the trans. The Honda and the Deawoo axles both use the same retaining system, so they should go in with a little trial end error and by rotating the shaft until they ''click'' into place, right? Is there a trick to it, or should I just keep cursing at it and do what i am doing? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

After talking to a Honda mechanic, he suggested thumping with a sledgehammer and a block of wood. It only took a couple of taps and they popped right in! The car runs and feels great.

How can I reset the automatic transmission sensors?

No such thing as resetting trans sensors

How do you do drive cycles, if even required
on that trans, you will have to look up that info

That is done by a shop before you get it back,
not by the owner

HOW DO I TROUBLE SHOOT A 2001 DAEWOO LEGANZA AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR?

Well, if it is full of fluid, and the shifter is moving the transmission linkage then I would think that there is an internal issue with the transmission.

Hi, I have read your answer to toping up the GearBox Oil on my, 1998 Daewoo Leganza SX manual transmission, But still cannot find the Filler Hole?

Hi,
The filler hole is on the side of the transmission, you could distinguish the hole by the screw plug.
The screw plug is sometimes a square screw or a square hole, it's near the left side axle shaft.
Hope that helped you out!

G/day i need help puting in a new clutch kit into a 99 leganza the car is off the ground wheel is off now do we start by taking off/or dropping the passenger side suspension and all so the plastic covers...

It's best if you get a manual on this. Some times it is easier to remove the engine and transmission. some times you can remove enough of the steering and wheel parts to spread the trans and engine apart to get a clutch package out and in. these are always a look and see type job. They are difficult to do, not impossible. You also have to remove both drive shafts, so both sides have to come apart as you have stated.

I have a 01 daewoo leganza where is the drain plug for the automatic transaxle/transmisson to drain the fluid and replace it?

I have a 2000 Leganza. It was far easier to drain the fluid with a suction hose fed down the transmission filler pipe. Less messy too! You also have the benefit of knowing exactly how much you took out and can avoid overfilling it with the fresh fluid.

ECU port for 99 Daewoo Leganza

you mean the diagnostic port? All vehicles after 1996 use obdII and the rules for the location of the plug state that it must be accessable from the drivers seat. it could be anywhere from near the drivers door to the center console. It may be covered by a plate. get a good flashlight and good luck. You can also contact Daewoo at www.daewoous.com or call 1-800-323-9668
