SOURCE: heater control 98 chevy s10 blazer

These trucks have a problem where moisture builds up in the heater box then freezes. When this freezes and you change your heater settings it breaks the shaft for the blend door. If this is what happened you should be able to look under the dash above and to the right of the gas pedal and you will see two vaccuum accuators one of them you should be able to wiggle around the linkage if it is broke. To fix this you need to remove the entire dash to get the heater box out which involves discharging the AC and draining the coolant because the heater core and evaporator come out. Please rate.

SOURCE: Heater blows out dash vents only. Will not blow

Sounds like the switch that closes and opens the door for the changing of air flow is bad.

2002 Chevy S10 blows warm air on all settings unless it is set for the vents I replaced the thermostat as had code for bad thermostat

You may have a problem with the blend door motors on the side of the heater box. As one other person said: "Look at the controls right above the driver's feet area toward the heater box". If they are moving properly all the way, when you move the selectors on the dash, then there may be a problem inside the heater box. If they don't move all the way, then the blend door motors may be bad or binding. Another common problem on these is the control head on the dash not working properly. The control head can be diagnosed with a scanner that can read codes for it. Hope this helps out.

I have a 2001 S10 that the heater doesnt work in. Also when I select defrost, floor etc. I always get constant flow from vents with very little flow to defrost and floor. Could these be related? All I have...

Make sure there is enough coolant in the engine ... if you are a few quarts low it will not get to the heater core. If there is enough there is something wrong with your heater door / actuator or cable.

What is a blender/ it is suposed to a part of the heater area

The "blender" would refer to the blend actuators that change the flow of air from floor to vent to defrost or combinations. Properly working blend doors will allow you to direct air to the dash vents, the floor, the defroster, the floor and defroster or the floor and dash vents. If it is not working the heater will still work but you will hae no control oer where the air flows.

1998 Chevy S10 pickup air condition compres is on instead of heat

First be sure that you do not have the controls set to defrost the windows since on just about all vehicles nowadays with the controls set that way the air conditioner will be turned on...even if it is not so warm outside. So...be sure that you do not have any of the controls set to defrost and that the heater is turned all the way on.

It sounds like though that the control for the vents is not operating properly. This is a combination of mechanical movements of the vent flaps and small "air motors" that operate the flaps. These air units are controlled by air vacuum taken from the engine compartment through tiny hoses. If the hoses get cracks, holes or come loose from their fittings then your vents will not move correctly so it is a matter of looking and tracing each one of the hoses to make sure they are fastened correctly, have not come loose and are not cracked or leaking. The problem can even be in the engine compartment where the hose(s) connect to the engine vacuum system...so it will take lots of looking carefully with flashlights etc....good luck.

Front defrost wont work in my 92 4runner

Yes it is cable operated and something is probably disconnected. Remove your glove box so you can get a better look at whats going on.

No air out of vents

the vacuum lines running to your heater box under the dash isn't opening the different doors that allow it to change from defrost to dash to floor all this is under the dash and you'll have to get under there and see which one is leaking or disconnected
