My metro quit on me while i was driving. its standard. i was told to get another motor cause some belt strained the motor and something to do wit crankshaft. it seems to want to start . i was not told about this sensor just heard about it. could it be the crksht sensor. where is this located.??
I HAVE A 1996 gEO mETRO. and i had the same problem.
I was driving and out of no where the car shut off.
and it would not start....
i was told it was the cam censor. that's in the distributer... my total cost for the part was around 200 from NAPA. Labor about 32....

3 or 4 cylinder?
3's are interferance 4's are not.
Did you crank the engine after it quit.
If yes, this cannot do any damage.
Did you check the timimg belt?
Open the air cleaner, put your hand over the carburater, crank the engine, does it **** or breath both directions?
**** is good.
Breat in and out, broken or jumped timing belt.
