have you tried disabling either the hood switch or trunk switch and leave it that way for a few days to see if one of these switches is causing the problem? each should have a disconnect that you can unplug.

easiest one should be the hood switch. look for the little plunger where it meets the hood, then follow the wire to the connector. if after a few days the alarm goes off, reconnect the hood switch and disconnect the trunk switch.

Is this a factory anti-theft alarm, or installed sometime afterward?

Have any of yuor neighbors recently installed any sort of high-powered radio equipment recently?

    (CB's, amatuer radio, etc?)

I have the same problem with my Z3 alarm going off, a local BMW specialist has traced it to the pitch sensor which has been damaged due to a water leak, the wires are also corroded. They have quoted £200 to fix it, but advise that the water leak is sealed first because it'll just get damaged again. I've had a look round and it appears the water is getting in by the off side light cluster via the boot gutter.

Have a look in the boot for water, apparently the alarm Pitch Sensor can get damaged.Bmw priced this part at £278.71 and another £300+ to find where the water is getting in.

SOURCE: bmw alarm keeps going off

Had the same problem. I cleaned the bonnet open/close sensor located at the back left of the engine compartment, and sprayed it with wd40. Worked a treat for me. Another solution is to push you lock button twice. This turns off the interior movement sensor.

Motor car electrical fault

ok....the problem is the rear washer pipe has blown of in the tailgate where it connects to the motor,it happens when you operate the rear washer when it is frozen.the connection is fairly weak and cant cope with pressure build up.in both cases you need to remove the tailgate trim, reconect the pipe and dry out the catch as that has a micro switch in it that operates the warning light for tailgate open and the alarm.it is shorted out with water hence the false alarming and warning light on........if you pop the bonnet but dont open it that will stop alarm from arming as temp fix,but dont forget to shut it before you drive off .hope this helps, please rate this ,thx
