The fuel pump relays are mounted on an "L" bracket underneath the ECM. Both have something to do with the Fuel pump. Be careful not to get it confused with the horn relay it is in the same vicinity (under the dash on the drivers side).

The other relay is the main relay not a Horn Relay.

This helped me find the relay which I was disconnecting to depressurize the fuel system. But when I disconnect it the the fuel pump runs continuously instead of just 3 seconds when you turn on the ignition. It also makes a beeping sound (coming from the disconnected relay) and in time with it the pumps makes a change in RPM. So the relay connector is shorting out, I surmise? Any help?

We can't get our 1991 GEO Tracker to start

I had this problem as well. The tracker had sat for 8 years and would only run off of starter fluid. I replaced the filter and fuel pump then I had no fire. Located under driver side dash in the fuse panel theres a fuse for coil. I don't remember which one, but, I am pretty sure it is a 10 amp fuse. Or just do like I did and replace any bad fuses. If that doesn't work it will be a relay located above that same fuse box.

Locate n change a fuel filter on a 1991 geo tracker

In front of the fuel tank on the passenger side mounted to the frame in the fuel line, not in the tank. Go to Autozone.com and you can get simple instructions on how to replace it.

1991 tracker I put in a new fuel pump relay. the new relay has power comming to teh relay the wire going to the fuel pump has no power. put the jumper wire in and the pump runs. Why won"t the power go...

probably becuase its faulty...try replacing it and go from there...or else there is another source of resistance in the circuit some where....also, check your fuses....a blown fuse will stop flow of current as well.

It should be on the fire wall, on the passenger side. Behind a black plastic cover.

Have the computer checked. My Dads Tracker was doing the exact same thing and it turned out the computer was bad. I'm afraid it wasn't cheap to get the computer refurbished either. ($500)
