SOURCE: my 2005 jeep grand cherokee stalls on me while im

I had the same problem. It was getting to where the car stalled every time I stopped. I took it to the dealer and they told me that I needed a new Idle Air Control Motor and a complete fuel injection service (including spark plugs and wires). The price tag...only $750.00. I went online to a few different forums and consulted a trusted technician in my hometown and was able to fix it myself. The problem was carbon buildup on the throttle body. It sounds difficult to fix, but it is right at the top of the engine and easily accessible. Click here for directions to clean the throttle body. I suggest the one where you remove teh throttle body first, you can get it much cleaner that way. I know the link is for a 2004 and older, but it is the same process for 2005 and up. For the cost of a can of throttle body cleaner and some shop towels, it is worth it. Total cost to do it myself was $6.50 (yes, six dollars and fifty cents) and about an hour. It has not stalled since and that was about 6 weeks ago.

Here is a picture of the fuel filter location. If replacing filter does not fix the problem, check fuel pump pressure.

2000 jeep grand Cherokee stalls while drive or idling no codes

which engine? 2000 GC, is a body, stalling is and engine issues.

there are 5 reasons (physics) to stall, and 50 ways. (reality, say head valve stick hot only??? and lots more.)

ill not list them (searching shows my posts doings so 100 times)
but will ask you one questions.
can you save the stall with a fast right foot.??????????
ok 2 .
does the dash lamps (any ) go dead at stall point.?

the scan tool only works best , scanning and driving and for sure
at the stall point, so?
for example misfire codes clear in 1 second if gone.
so you missed that...... real time scanning is best, others like trips
to autozoned are near useless. IMO. why work, blind, ?

2000 jeep grande cherokee, will start if i jump it off, but when i give it gas, it idles down and stalls out

Check your charging system. Jumping will put a slight surface charge on the battery but that will only last as few minutes. If system is not charging, you will drop below operating voltage and the engine will then stall after disconnection jumpers.

2000 grand cherokee stalls

try replacing the idle air control motor or IAC for short. i actually had one at work today with your same complaint. and sure enough the valve was a carboned up and wouldnt work properly. and its nearly impossible to clean to the point where it will work properly. cost for the part at a dealer is about $115.

Stop instantly

Does your car stall ( engine doesn't idle?)? It may be the Idle Air Control Valve.
