The egr wiring should plug into the egr valve itself. It is located on the front of intake manifold to the side of the thermostat housing. Has someone removed the valve and plated off the opening?

Hi Jim, The Exhaust Gas Recycle valve is usually mounted on a tappet cover and is connected to the the intake manifold. It has the function of recycling the fumes from the sump and burning them in the combustion chamber. Regards John
The egr valve should be located in the front of the intake manifold by the thermostat housing and alternator. It should be an electronic egr with one electrical connector.
The EGR Valve is located on the front of the Engine under the frest air tube. It is at a 45' angle. When checking look for lodged carbon chunks. I recommend using a gesket with a screen built in. It is located infront of the Thermostat housing.
the EGR valve is located just below the intake manifold on the passengers side front of the motor 2 nuts/bolts hold it in place just adjacent to the thermostat housing and behind but above the water pump and is accessible without removing anything else to remove it with a bit of flexible or swivel extensions and socket
If it's a 2.0L, 5 speed (1994-7) there are two DPFE solenoids (both w/ 3 vacuum ports) near the oil filter, which control the EGR valve. They are discontinued and impossible to find except on junked cars. (FORD #'s K5T44093-4) I have to junk my 1996 Probe if I don't find them - Missouri emissions.
