Taillight fuse keeps blowing

I have a 2003 suzuki aerio, the fuse for the side markers, taillights(not brake lights) and part of the dash lights(heater knobs and gear shift) keeps blowing. The car has had nothing electrical added and basically is only used twice a week for the last year to teach my son to drive. i will,be giving it to him when he gets his license.

SOURCE: How to Change the taillight bulb 2002 Aerio standard model

You have to unscrew one or two screws (don't remember) to remove the whole light assembly (need the hatch or trunk open to access screws). The solution is work from outside the car not inside.

Suzuki Aerio 02 Rear brake lights are not working. Tail lights, fuses, bulbs, brake switch all fixed. In park, brake lights come on when pedal pressed. In R, N or D, no brake lights. Wiring?

Why would your gear shift have anything to do with brake lights etc?
Unless the shift action is fouling the wiring loom that contains those wires!
I would get a diagnostic test carried out to verify.
