SOURCE: how do I reset my

you can not reset it. all you have to do is go to the dealer and get a new sensor. once the sensor touches the disk it opens up the circuit, thus you have your brake pad warnning.

Did they replace the brake pad wear sensor? If so, try leaving the key in the on postion for 30-45 seconds (dont start the car) This is how we reset the lights on BMW's and the Mini's use a similar system for service lights

the brake pad warning light is controlled by a sensor located in the front and rear brake pads, small contact with 2 wires that plud into a harness, if they are bad I think the replacement cost is around 5-10 dollars for a new one, there will only be one in the front and one in the rear, the service light is turned out by a special tool at the dealer

Brake pad light still on after pads were replaced.

if you didn't replace the brake pad wear sensor, you wont be able to reset the light. if you did and it still doesn't reset, you need to get into the maintenance system with a scanner, (your local garage should be able to do it) and reset the brake pad wear counter

Need to know how to get caliper to release once new brake pads are installed on rear brakes of 2005 mini cooper Thx

You need to squeeze the piston in with a 'C' clamp, with the brake pad on it and then slide the caliper over the rotor.

2004 Mini Cooper Indicator light problem

BRAKES! Replace your brakes NOW. You have less than 2MM of pad lining on (most likely) your front brake pads. No brakes, no stop. No stop, no MINI.

2002 Mini Cooper Brake Disc Wear

it may be time for new brake pads, and you usually want to replace your rotors when you change pads, you can get away with not doing and instead take it to a shop and get them "turned"

if you want to see for yourself if it's time for new brake pads just remove one of your wheels and look at your brake pads (they are the what actually make contact with your rotor) and if the pad itself is less than the width of about 2 or three credit cards, then it's time for new pads.

hope that was helpful....good luck!
