Po470 I been trying for at least 3 months to get rid of the PO470 code. I replace the egr boost sensor. But still no dice, the code still there. I think I may have a bad solenoid on top of the egr valve. I tested the egr valve by pushing the spring up, then putting my finger over the exhast hole on the valve. It held open. So I asume the solenioid is bad. So I tested it by using a 9volt battery to triger the plunger to react. Nothing . Help! on

SOURCE: EGR Valve, O2 Sensor

Absolutely a bad o2 sensor can cause problems with performance. If you replace one it is highly recommended to replace both or all four depending on your vehicle. If one o2 sensor is making your vehicle run rich you will burn more fuel and in return increase the amount of carbon or unburnt fuel if you will in your egr valve you could probably get away with cleaning it but I would recommend replacing it, it will save you from having to pull it off again. Check your catyletic converter because long exposure to carbon will mess it up.

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak, a problem with the wiring, or a bad PCM. Check wiring for pinched, chafed, pierced, or broken wires. Make sure vacuum supply is good, and not collapsing when the vehicle is running. Beyond that, a trip to the dealer may be in order.

What is fault code SA 16 DTC PO 4D900

Looks like could be caused by one of several sensors.
I did find thisP04D9 EGR feedback saturation This OBD monitor indicates if the burned air fraction error is saturated against a high or low limit. The logic for the monitor evaluates the time spent at saturation and compares the ratio between the time spent in a saturation mode and the total time engine running. A fault is reported whenever the ratio exceeds the fault limit.
P04D9 EGR system: Feedback control(Saturated Low)
Enable conditions: Engine torque 300 - 2500NM,Exhaust Mass Flow 0.1 kg/s, Ambient Air Temperature-8 -55C, Barometric Pressure 75 - 105 kpa, Coolant Temperature>65 C
Disable Conditions No active DTCs P0069 P046c P0234, P0299, P0401, and P0402

2005 mazda 6 p2227 and p2144 what is the most popular part you replace

P2227 indicating an EGR boost sensor circuit performance problem. P2144 is actually pointing a finger at the boost sensor solenoid valve. Replace the solenoid valve and you will most likely cure both codes being stored.

I believe I need a tune up on my 96 Mazda protege' I put it up on a computer and it comes up with code p1195, would a tune up correct the problem? or is it something else that could be wrong/

P1195 SCP HBCC Failed To Initialize is for barometric pressure circuit, ( boost/map sensor circuit malfunction ) found in
memory.

1.Monitor boost / map sensor voltage readings using the NGS tester and
confirm reading are within specifications. also monitor the sensor
after a hot start to confirm that sensor reading change when EGR boost
sensor solenoid swithes OFF to ON to OFF, when the system is
functioning normaly the the test will only occur once, but if there
is no change in reading due to no opening, closing or blockage of
the solenoid ports, EGR valve port,or within the connecting hoses
the PCM will repeat this test three times. But this does not mean
solenoid doesn't stick occasionally.
2.Inspect boost sensor hoses for water.
3.Inspect boost sensor solenoid for leakage, blockage and/or sticking
caused by rust build-up.
4 Inspect EGR valve "hose" port for blockage.
5.Replace boost sensor if sensor was produced before November 96.
Sensor can be identified by stamped (not molded) in 4 digit code on
the top of the sensor.

Code P1195

That code is for the EGR boost sensor. It has an open or a short in one of the wires.

For one thing the CEL being on all the time how will you know if something else comes up, short of it running bad or worse. The EGR serves two functions. It lowers NOx and allows for greater timing control. If the EGR is not working and the PCM advances the timing when there's no EGR it can cause excessive spark knock. If the knock sensor doesn't work it can cause severe engine damage. If the knock sensor works and the PCM lowers advance the biggest problem you'll have is polluting.

Hope helped (remember rated this help) Good luck.
