SOURCE: 98 gmc jimmy loses power to a stop

the fuel pump could actually be malfunctioning. and the reason that you are able to restart and drive again is because when you turn the key on it is allowing the fuel pump to pressureize your system. but while the fuel pump is continuasly running it is loosing the fuel pressure. this is common on the cheap fuel pumps. i am not sure about were you got the fuel pump from but in all of my experiances with this problem i find that the fuel pumps have been boughten at a napa store.
i hope this helps you out.
and you could attach a fuel pressure gauge on to the fuel rail and start the car and watch the pressure to see if it is droping.

SOURCE: Fuel pump fuse keeps popping

You have a short to ground or the pump is starting to go bad. You can run a seperate wire from the hot side of the fuse to your pump to see if it is the pump or if you use an ohm meter to check the wire and the pump. Get's a little technical though.

My '99 chevy truck with 5,7L 350 will start but wont stay running. put new fuel pump and relay switch in

First you must determine if the fuel is stopping or the spark is stopping..If the fuel is stopping this could be a computer problem.. If the spark is stopping then it could be the IGN Module in the distributer. or any nomber of sensors. Squirt a little fuel directly into the Throttle body on the intake manifold.. If the truck runs longer its probably loss of fuel.. Do this several times to make sure, be careful and only use a small amounty of fuel.. you do not want a fire.. RE: Spark: Take a plug wire and an old plug..put the wire on the plug.. hold the plug against a good ground .. have someone crank the engine .. does the plug stop firing? The engine dies.. and will not restart for a minuet or so.. during this "no start" time do the plug test. If the plug will not fire during this time take the module out and take it to Orillys Auto parts.. They can test it.. really expensive part. Don't replace until you know it is BAD..

97 sonoma only runs on starter fluid

if it ran fine before this happened then check the fuel pump relay first. it may have shorted out when jumped off, or when battery was replaced

Have a1998 astro van that wont start until I spray starting fluid in the throttle body, then starts up and runs fine until about two hours later I go to start it back up and it wont start again.PLEASE HELP...

The first thing you need to check is fuel pressure. This type of fuel system requires a minimum fuel pressure of 56 psi to start. Anything less, even as little as 1psi. And it will not start. It starts and runs when you add the starting fluid because the poppets (the mechanical injectors located at each cylinders intake runner) require less fuel pressure to operate when the intake is under vacuum.

This is a classic symptom of low fuel pressure. A new fuel pump is the typical fix for this problem. Don't skimp on quality if you do need a new fuel pump. They are not all the same.

2000 jimmy will crank but wont start, fuel put is

Then it is the fuel pump. Can you hear the fuel pump come on if not that is what it is. That is why when you put fuel in the intake it started. Good Luck.

Engine turns over fine , car will not start.

well the first part of your question i was all ready to tell you to put a new fuel pump in, now not so sure, there is a relay for fuel pump, can you hear pump cycle and relay click? relay under hood you will have to listen close they don't run long maybe a couple secounds, if you don't relay bad. if you do pump could be bad, do fuel pressure test pump could be weak. don't think sunroof and turn signals are related, but stranger things have happend.

TRUCK WONT START AFTER IT WAS PARKED

the only thing this could be is the fuel filter is plug or the fuel pump is out before you do all of this check your fuel pump relay first before you go to the first two.

1985 corvette wont start

NEVER use either!! EVER! It burns very dry and can destroy a gas engine! Just give it a bit of gas down the intake. But keep the can away after each try! Far away! Not sure how you are getting 32v?? That can't be volts! Silly question, but is there fuel in the tank?? Have seen this before! It would be great to learn how this all started?? [or should i say stopped] lol Check the fuel line for a pin hole. It sounds like it is sucking air. Really need a bit more info. OK Frankster016
