Fuel pump fuse keeps popping

Have a 96 gmc sonoma and I keep blowing the fuel pump fuse. The truck runs fine for about a couple days then the fuel pump fuse pops and causes the truck to die untill I replace the fuse. Any help would be appriciated

    You are going to have to replace the fuel pump. Have u done so?

You have a short to ground or the pump is starting to go bad. You can run a seperate wire from the hot side of the fuse to your pump to see if it is the pump or if you use an ohm meter to check the wire and the pump. Get's a little technical though.

Somewhere you have a ground fault in the wiring system. Sometimes if the O-ring on the fuel pump assembly is bad it allows a improper ground. Be sure to also check the fuse box wiring to assure that all grounds are tight. Some fuse boxes have multiple grounds.

It wouldn't be the fuse. The fuel filter would be the best bet, especially if it has been changed for a while. Should be changed every 12,000-20,000 miles.

The fuse ecm b it tied to the fuel pump, PCM, and VCM.
Fuel pump could have an internal short
check it by the way...
