Stopped at the gas station and placed lucas fuel injector cleaner before fulling the tank with gas. After filling the tank drove the car for about 30 seconds then it started to miss. Any fixes available.

Check the fuel pressure on the fuel rail on top of the motor. Diesel fuel tends to be "dirtier" than gasoline, and I'd be willing to bet the fuel filter is stopped up.

Is this happening at all gas pumps, or just a particular pump?

It could be that your fill hose may be partially blocked, your anti-siphon flap is getting stuck

Hi, My '04 'misses' when idling AND while driving. It's a chug-like roughness????I've just had a service(plugs, transmission)Hayley. E-mail: [email protected]

hey,it's against fixya.com policy for me to contact you directly, but i will try to assist you. lets do this by the numbers. bought fuel lately? suspect bad fuel? add clear, clear, rubbing alcohol to your gas tank and this will dry up any water in the gas tank and it will not harm your engine at all. if you do not suspect bad fuel purchase, then, maybe clogging fuel injectors in the engine. remedy, local parts store, autozone, advance auto parts, purchase lucas fuel injector treatment{cleaner] just add it to your fuel tank.follow the instructions on the bottle, after 25to50miles,you should see a difference in the engine.but just to diagnose for you without hearing the engine, sounds like a clogged fuel injector or misfire of sparkplugs, but you've already replaced the plugs,so fuel injectors is my diagnosis.thank you for choosing fixya.com

When i fuel up 88 blazer, there is pressure building in the gas tank, ( it hisses when i open the cap) and when driving down the road it seems to be very sluggish and sometimes even dies... but this seems...

the pressure in the fuel tanks supposed to be there, your fuel pump,,,pumps 180lbs of pressure to the engine all the time.your engine requires it. so if you do not hear that pressure when you remove the gas cap,you do have a problem. but it does sound like you have a possible fuel injector or maybe 2 fuel injectors clogging.simple to give you solution.add lucas fuel injector cleaner to your fuel tank.a clogged fuel injector will seem like an engine misfire also, just because fuel bulds in the cylinder at times, then the spark plug fires and then BOOM the engine misses while in motion. sound familiar? the lucas costs $5.00 and will treat 25 gallons of fuel. try this, and please let me know if this helps!!

Hi, my 1996 pontiac 3.1 just got the service engine light went on along with rough idle. Took it to a auto store they hooked it up and said that cyl 4 miss fired. Any ideas. Tune 6 months ago full tank...

either injector, or plug wire or plug-I'd vote for for the plug wires first, and you can check the injector by using a broom handle and holding it against the suspect injector-see if it clicks while the engine runs. Compare it to others to see if it sounds the same. You might also remove the plug and see if it is wet (bad plug wire) or dry (injector, possibly).

I have a 94 oldsmobile cutlass supreme it has a miss but i change plus wires fuel ign,

what you may have are clogged fuel injectors, simple to clear up. add lucas fuel injector cleaner to your fuel tank. suspect bad fuel? water in fuel? 1 bottle of clear rubbing alcohol added to your gas tank should clear up to 1 gallon of water in your fuel tank. the alcohol will not affect your engine at all. it will only dry the water up that may be mixed in your fuel,be prepared for this as gas prices will continue to rise .hope this helps.thank you for choosing fixya.com

Needs to know the best recommended fuel type for my toyota corolla 1993 model

Hi!!

You should be using regular unleaded. This is "regular" 87-octane gasoline. You have no reason to need gas with a higher octane, it would be a waste, stick to 87.

Good luck!!

My gas tank was running below E the other day. i made it to the gas station and filled up and my car started to "putter" at the first red light i came to. It drove but took a second to pick up full speed...

What happens when you let the fuel tank run empty or nearly empty is any trash and or water that has accumulated at the bottom has become stirred when refueled. If the car still "putters", I suggest replacing the fuel filter and see if that clears the problem. I also recommend that you also run a small bottle of Lucas fuel conditioner or fuel injector cleaner to help loosen and remove any trash built up in the fuel injectors.

Lack of power in gas pedal

Check fuel pressure and see if its around 30-35 psi while under load if not replace fuel pump, also the gas thats in the tank may be no good if it has sat for so long..
