SOURCE: Car wont start

You need the code reprogrammed into the security system; Contact a dealer for the code.

SOURCE: no start

Check for fuel supply and spark availability to cylinders. Must have both that is a good starting point to determine fault.

SOURCE: Security light flashing and car won't start now

does it start at all, or does it run for about 1 second and shut off? if the latter, then it's the passlock system, and he could have a defective key or security module. the keys have a predetermined resistance value which activates the passlock system to prevent hotwiring. If it is the passlock system, then sometimes you have to wait 15-20 mins for it to reset before starting the engine.

you have to leave it in the on position until the light stops flashing and then turn the car all the way to the off position then start it it works everytime for me make sure your radio and everything if off so it wont drain your battery

99 chrysler 300 m security light on and locks out ignition when inside of car temp is over 86 degrees

I had a 2006 cobalt which gave security light when my wife drove the car I had no problem with my key. If you have a second key it may help to try it. I had a new key made at the dealer and solved her problem. Two days later the battery was dead. I installed a new battery. I always wondered if low voltage at start up could have had something to do with it. At any rate the new key which had the magnet chip solved the issue of the security light. I know there are other issues which could be in play this is the only experience with a security light I have had.
