My wife went to start the car and the battery was dead so we jumped it and although the lights came on it still wouldn't start. when the jumper cables where put on the 4ways flashed and the blue security light on the dash came on. Ive tried to disarm it using the door locks and cant find any bottom under the dash. it still wont start and i am not sure what to do. a new battery seams likely

When you put the jumper cables on, put the key in the drivers door lock and unlock the door to deactivate the factory alarm.

the alarm seems to be activated. press the button and turn the key.

If your battery has not been drained, try unlocking the lift gate or the passenger side door. That should disarm the alarm. You may need to get a jump if you're getting the flashing lights.
Another thing it does is to shut off your fuel pump. If you get it started after trying the above procedure, the issue is definitely your alarm system.
It is armed whenever you normally leave your car (using power locks seems to arm it on my 94 GCL.
There is a permanant disarming procedure on FixYA but it is pretty radical -- you have to find one of the wires that sends the signal to the alarm system from one of your door locks and ground it.
