Good quality rubber fuel line should work, if you can't find the appropriate steel line.

SOURCE: no owners manual need one free, cant figure out alarm or fuse box

Is the alarm the factory alarm or is it aftermarket? If it is the factory unit try using the remote fob to turn it off (check batteries in the fob). If you lock the car door and reach in the window and open from the inside door handle it will trigger the alarm. Stick the key in the door lock and turn to unlock. It's been awhile since I looked at these Jeeps so memory may not be clear.

SOURCE: dash and shifter lights in 1996 jeep cherokee wont light

Hello and welcome to FixYa . Locate the dial that controls the brightness of the dashboardlights. If the control is not immediately evident. Make sure the brightness control is turned on. If it is and the lights aren't working, the problem may be a bad fuse. Check the fuse that controls the dashboard lights Replace the fuse if necessary. If just one part of the instrument panel is not lighting up, then you have either a burned-out bulb or a wiring problem.

Fuses first, Fan relay & coolant temperature sensor are 3 things to look at here as culprits, provided fan is o.k.

How to remove the starter?

I suggest you purchase a Haynes manual from a local auto parts store. It will walk you through every step.

Haynes manuals are not very expensive but do a descent job. Make sure you get the one for your specific vehicle.

1996 jeep cherokee is hard to start

The best place i have found to get parts at low cost is a salvage yard. I did the same thing on my 88 Comanche and the only place i found the parts where at a salvage or junkyard.

My brakes are shot and i need to know how much for total replacement

You can get fairly common prices for parts from the parts store but labor can vary from shop to shop. Try pricing parts online like www.autozone.com or napa or advance autoparts. That way you can get a idea of what shops are overcharging for parts.

IAM LOOKING FOR A GAS FLOAT FOR MY 1996 JEEP CHEROKEE COUNTY. DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND ONE

Floats come as part of a carburetor kit from your local parts store, if that's what you're looking for. Try Pep Boys, Advance Auto, Autozone, or other aftermarket auto parts stores.

Your best bet is to try local junkyards, craigslist, or eBay.

Gas smell after the vehicle stops 1196 jeep grand cherokee

you very might well have a fuel line leak. turn the car on on a flat dry surface for about 5 minutes and then turn the car off. Look for a puddle of gas and look up and see where it is coming from. If its coming from a steel round line, that would be your fuel line and the only way of fixing it is replacing it

Some type of sensor maybe ?

I had this happen to a Jeep Cherokee. It could be water or something in the gas line. After time, it eventually ran great again, once it burned off the "bad gas" or what not. If you go to a local autopart store, you can find additives for your gas.

When this happened to me, I tried spark plugs, spark plug wires, and even the fuel pump. None of which solved my problem.
