SOURCE: where is the oil sending unit on a 1996 ford

On 3.0L OHV engines, the oil pressure sensor is located on the left side of the engine block above the flywheel. On 3.0L DOHC engines the sensor is located on the left side of the engine block above the oil filter. On 3.4L DOHC engines the sensor is screwed into the oil filter adapter. The oil pressure sensor operates the oil pressure warning lamp.

SOURCE: location of oil sending unit

its on the rear of the block, driver side, about halfway up --- behind and practically entangled with the harness.

A better question: How do you remove the connector?

Ford windstar 2003 3.8 V6 where is oil sending unit located?

It could either be on the flange where the oil filter screws on or it might on top of the engine block at one end or the other. It won't be anywhere in the middle. If you don't know what it looks like, It will be screwed into where ever it is. It will be metal on the bottom to 1/2 way up where it becomes black plastic. At the middle where the metal and plastic meet, it will look like it will take a kind of large
funky looking socket to remove it. If you can swing a pair of channel locks in there, and if you are careful; you won't have to buy a socket that you'll probably never use again. At the top of the plastic half, there will be either a slip-on connector or possibly a nut holding a wire onto the unit. It only needs one wire as it goes to ground when activated. good luck. Jeff M.

Brake light staying on. on my 2001 ford windstar what might it be

check your master cylinderr fluid level. If full brakes may be worn badly or master cyoinder may be going bad.. if brakes are ok change brake sending unit usually located on master cylinder. do noty drive until you are positive your brakes are good. if fluid level is low in master look for brake fluid under car usually on back of wheel.if no brake fluid on back of wheel inspect brake lines for a hole usually rusted through. if this is helpful please leave me positive feedback.

Where is the oil sending unit located on my 1998 ford windstar 3.8 engine?

In a really stupid place. It is sticking out of the side of the timing cover right below the power steering pump bracket. It is really fun to try to get at. Advise? Go to an expert.
