Adjust your rear brake shoes. Then rebleed the system. Start at the master cylinder Bleed master first then the wheel furthest away from the master (right rear then left rear then right front then left front. Do that and your pedal should be good.

I have 1989 ford f150 and it turns over but wont start. I have checked the wire harnest, fuel pump, fuses, fuel relay, Help. It turns over and it has spark but not starting.

have you tried to spray starting fluid into the intake while cranking the engine over. if it starts then you have a fuel problem, possibly injectors or poor fuel pressure or volume. you say you check the fuel pump but not how. you have to use a gauge and not just push on the Schrader valve to see if gas is present. it could also be a timing issue.

Will not start

Gas, air, compression, and spark is all the cylinders need for the engine to run. No start is usually gas or spark related. Here's the fuel check on fuel injected cars. Turning the key to on will start the pump for 2 or 3 seconds to pressurize the system. When the engine is cranking over the computer turns on the fuel pump relay again, so the pump will be on. And stays on after engine is running to keep high pressure against the fuel injectors. The computer times the injector pulse to spray gas into the intake or into the cylinder at the right time.
So if you have a no start, to check for gas, listen for the pump- a distinctive hum or buzz from the tank, check the fuel pump fuse, see if you can feel or hear the fuel pump relay click when someone turns the key to on. (Did you remember to check if the tank has gas?). Finally, you would have to check for power on the fuel pump wire at the tank connector, while someone holds the key in start. If you have power there, it's likely you need a new fuel pump. If the pump is working, well and good, but keep in the back of your mind that a weak pump that puts out low pressure can cause hard starting problems and poor running. At any rate, if you have gas up to the fuel rail, the only other thing between there and the cylinders is the injectors. Are they working? A quick check would be to remove a spark plug or two after cranking the engine over a few seconds. If they are wet with gas, the injectors are injecting. Hope I've helped you out some. I know some people who say to spray some starting fluid into the air intake to check if you have a gas problem with starting- I've done it myself. But I've learned it's better to use carburetor cleaner spray instead, it burns cleaner and something about the potentially harmful effects of starting fluid, well. good luck.

1993 ford wont start

fuel pump is gone for sure. it ran until the fuel in engine burnt then died. poor 1/4 cup gas into intake. if it starts and dies a couple seconds later then 100% fuel pump.

Comran out of gas now my 1992 ford explorer wont start. any suggestion on what the problem might be

This truck uses a small electric fuel pump that is located inside the fuel tank, it is cooled by the gas it is immersed in, so when you run the tank dry it severely overheats the fuel pump and many times it can seize up. The way to see if the pump has failed and you have no fuel reaching the engine is to spray starting fluid into the air filter and if the engine starts you need to pull the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump assembly.

My car starts but stalls out.

i'd check ignition, like spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap, then maybe coil, next look to the fuel, might be a clogged fuel filter, bad gas, or slow fuel pump

92 ford Taurus fuel pump starts and stops constantly car won't start. replace the relay, I can hear the relay clicking and the pump starting and stopping, any thoughts?

its either a bad fuel pump or you may have to take the fuel pump out and replace the wire that is inside the tank that connects to the fuel pump it is a lead wire and breaks somtimes causing it to have contact and loose contact..hope this helps keep me updated

1992 ford econoline will not start

check for fuel pressure and ignition spark. Turn ignition switch to run position while listening for fuel pump to run in gas tank. If no sound then fuel pump is either not getting voltage or pump is bad. If not getting spark from plug wires then take off ignition module and have it checked at your local parts store. both problems are very common. Good luck

Try changing the fuel filter, water trapped in it can freeze. Its a 92 and probably time for a fuel pump. They don't like water either.(Meythonol Fuel) Always change fuel filter when adding antifreeze to fuel
