Where is the IAT Sensor Located at on 1987 ford f350 with a 6.9 diesel engine

The Inlet Air Temperature sensor (IAT) located in an air passage in the intake manifold measures the incoming air temperature.
Cold air is denser, contains more oxygen, and therefore requires a richer mixture.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the wiring to the IAT.
  3. Remove the sensor from the intake manifold (MFI engines) or air cleaner/tube (SFI engines).
To install:
  1. Clean the sensor area. Install the sensor into the intake manifold and tighten to 12-15 ft. lbs. (16-24 Nm) on MFI engines. Fasten the twist-lock part on SFI engines.
  2. Attach the wiring to the unit.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Where is the temperature sensor located on a ford e-150 with a 302

The ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor is located either in the heater supply tube at the rear of the engine, or in the lower intake manifold. The ECT sensor is a thermistor (changes resistance as temperature changes).

The sensor detects the temperature of engine coolant and provides a corresponding signal to the PCM. From this signal, the PCM will modify the air/fuel ratio (mixture), idle speed, spark advance, EGR and canister purge control. When the engine coolant is cold, the ECT sensor signal causes the PCM to provide enrichment to the air/fuel ratio for good cold drive-away; as engine coolant warms up, the voltage will drop.

Locationing temp sensor on 95 rodeo 3.2

There are SEVERAL temperature sensors on your vehicle (battery temperature sensor, intake air temperature sensor, evaporator temperature sensor, etc....you really should specify.

I will assume you mean the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
If this is the one you are looking for, it is located at the rear of the intake manifold on the left side.

I need to locate the intake temperature sensor on a 2004 f-350.

The Intake Air Temperature sensor (IAT) is mounted in the air system. Its exact location varies from year to year, but it always has two wires in its harness.

Where is the temperature sensor for a ford e-150 van 1994 on a 300ci v-8 engine. Thanks rick

1994 Ford Truck E150 1/2 ton Van 5.8L MFI 8cyl Temperature Switch is located: Front seating area, center, under engine cover, front driver side of intake manifold, mounted in engine block.

The ECT sensor (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor) is located either in the heater supply tube at the rear of the engine, or in the lower intake manifold.

Starting the engine when cold

Look for the temp sensor around the area where the top coolant hose meets the engine. That should be your thermostat housing (goose neck)....the coolant temp sensor is typically located in or around that component. What octane gas are you using? You may find that operating in the colder temp will require you to run premium in order to avoid excessive starts.
