5 digit code to unlock my 1997 Mercury Sable

I purchased a used Mercury Sable (1997) and they didn't have the code to unlock the key pad. Could you possibly help me. Thank you !

    thanks for responding Butch1964! I don't know where to get a NEW code to unlock the key pad. I have the keys to the car, but would also like to use the key pad. Hopefully you can help. Thank you

Look for a sticker on your trunk hinge but dont worry if its not there. I think that some Ford products had it in the dash compartment. Dont worry we will stay after it till we get it. Check out this site.

It is located on the keyless entry module located under the drivers side dash. There will be a five digit code on the side of the box facing the passenger side. Enter the code and it should unlock. Follow owners manual to change the code, it will store both codes at the same time and either should work.

I don't know if they have a code, but the dealer can make you a key you just have to show your registration.

93 mercury sable battery died now alarm won't allow me to start car!
use the key to lock and then unlock the driver door, this should allow car to start,it shuts alarm off. if its aftermarket alarm system then locate the push button under the dash, its a little push button usaually red, turn key on and quickly push and release this button 4 to 5 times.

I changed the battery in my 1997 Mercury Sable and now the radio displays the word "CALL" on it and doesn't work. How do I fix that?
It is the theft prevention system that newer vehicles have. When power is disconnected to the radio, it goes into lock mode and you have to enter a code and follow the procedure in your owners manual to get it unlocked. If you do not know the code, then take it to your Ford/Mercury Dealer and they will have it unlocked and provide you a code in less then 5 minutes. Most likely they won't charge you anything for it either.
