Didn't pass emissions when timing was set near twenty (drives smoothest there) but when set to 8 (where manual insists it needs to be set) first gear is such a problem that it won't go up a small inclined driveway. HELP!!!

I would beleive more that you have build up in the heater core. Try taking loose the heater hoses from the block and use a water hose to spray into one of the hoses letting it come out the other hose then switch hoses with the water hose and keep reverseing for 2/3 times each hose. sounds like stop leak may have been used in a prior time and may be blocking water flow.

Under the hood, you should be able to find the socket for the bulb behind the lighting assembly. The back of the socket turns out about a quarter of a turn, then can easily be removed to replace the bulb.
It goes back in reverse.
